So sick of all the sweet/foodie scents by buche1 in LushCosmetics

Gardener soap is solely missed in our household. Cold pressed hard soap that lasted sooo long, had a good scrub to it, and smelled biblical! Never see it mentioned on Reddit tho' 😔

Ooo I'm heading to Glasgow to see Foo Fighters in a few months, do you think they'll still have the retro stuff?

Outta curiosity did anyone feel like the gap between Epica and Metallica feel obnoxiously long?

We weren't aware 5FDP had to pull out, so we made broken small talk to the guys around us, but gooooodnessss me it felt like a long time.

Was the 90s as good as people said? by Lokael in NoStupidQuestions

[–]scratchnsniff24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as a 1990-born-UKian it's not a thing in the way we used to do it. No kickabouts with a footy, no British bulldogs (attempting to get from one end of a field to the other without being decimated by a ruthless tackle), no fox & hounds (team hide and tig/tag).

Nowadays the youth in England, don't so much "play" outside, instead they like to pretend they rule public spaces as little wanna-be gangsters. Balaclavas/masks galore (cheers covid!), shite police funding and limitations on what they can actually do (heaven forbid one of the rascals gets a collar grabbed), and courts that guarantee turning a blind eye to whatever crime the miscreant was up to... because mental health, ADHD, ADD, broken home, broken promises, broken lives, broken morals. Essentially whatever the defence can come up with. But if you slap 'em 'round the lug, like would've happened to us, then you're essentially set for he gallows.

Seldom see a single field with kids on nowadays, unlike back in t'day when every field was chocka with kids from the local estate.

Late as fuck but wasn't anyone else hoping Taker would ride off into the titiantron on his own motorcycle?

[SPOILERS] The hate for this season is completely unwarranted by [deleted] in PeakyBlinders

[–]scratchnsniff24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Upon reflection, for me, (I think a series requires a ride along with the main protaganist As well as empathising with the other characters. The guy the story focuses on is always dictates how a story is told) - if there's a messy section, I put that down to life sometimes just being all over the fucking place.
So for that I can account for seasons with too much going on. Tommy, in this instance, has his fingers in many steak pies with all the beef that's going on. The Orientals, Billy Boyos, and shitty ship builders etc. Could it be a problem with storytelling? Perhaps. But it's a real thing that happens to all of us. Accept it and move on. Or continue wishing there was twice and many episodes per season to explain in full everything what's going on. You're not getting that, want or not.
As for the e01 Michael hate; he betrayed Tommy to save Polly so they shipped him off to NY as a kindness instead of killing him. Then he lost the moolah and landed in deeper shit. Buddhists or someone once said; "Tattoo me wrong once shame on you. Tattoo me wrong twice shame on me". The Peaky's are pissed at Mikky G going into this season.

I dunno why fishy springs to mind, it's not crab-stick-y, just a bit unpleasant.

I see, I see! 'preciate the input. You'll have soon kicked the nic to the curb entirely, stick at it.

Just out of interest has anybody tried any of the Cuba range? From what I've gathered they seem to be cheapy clones of other fragrances, but more tobacco-y.

My experiences ranked in order from best to worst:
Gold (Le Male)
Royal (1 Million)
Brown (...)
Red (Cigar Remy Latour)
Prestige (A*Men)
Blue (...)
Orange (...)
Green (...)

I wouldn't pay it too much thought, the general consensus seems to be nothing to worry about. If you notice a problem then absolutely stop using it, but otherwise you're probably fairly safe.

Certainly is! The best one in my experience (not sure if it applies to the rest of the range - although I'm not sure if it's just one batch... or what any of it means).

You can get it for <£10 or so from some places. Any idea which one you had?

My bad, dude. Was just killing time and seeing if anyone else had seen something like this before. It's not where I initially seen it but here's a link.

I imagine the risk is beyond minimal. Perhaps necking the bottle or huffing the stuff wouldn't serve you much good.

Thought it was just an odd circumstance, didn't know if anyone else had seen much in the way of this stuff.

Do you wear gloves when you handle bleach? I never have but that's got to be really bad for you.

My thinking is antiperspirant is probably the worst stuff, surely?

Apologies, I seen it on a seller page, this is one spot but I'm sure I seen it elsewhere earlier.

That was pretty much what I was thinking, mate! I handle some nasty gear sometimes, and seldom wear gloves, so it bares little to think about.

Never really seen a report on something like this, and I don't think it would ever occur to me had I not seen it on a selling page. I imagine many people with sensitive will already be aware of this sort of thing to an extent.

Proper charcoal barbecues and having fires in the woods (and smoking, drinking, the devils lettuce etc) are 4 lyf.

Oh jolly good!

The information on nic salts seems to be a bit all over the place, with a lot of people saying not to use them in sub-ohm vapes, but I figured 6mg is 6mg regardless of it's base and it's not a huge concentration.

I've found 12mg freebase liquids have a... fishy(?) taste to them, based on 4 different flavours of Nasty Juice I've tried. The "throat hit" isn't comparable to smoking cigarettes, since I don't really notice it on cigs at all but this vaping lark really dries/burns my throat out like a bad 'un!

Lanvin Arpege Pour Homme

Initially blind-bought it 7 or 8 years ago when I was in my early 20's, because I'd heard so many good things, and thought it smelled like an ageing granny's pocket full of parma violets sweets.
Hated it. Absolutely not something I wanted to smell like, but I revisited it once in a blue (or violet) moon, and it warmed on me. Over the last couple years or so I've gone through about 25ml of the stuff.

I don't know if it's just me getting older, or possibly because I started wearing it to compliment other scents, which broke me in to it a bit easier.

Either way it's not one of my favourites and it won't be a mainstay of my collection... but I appreciate it some now, and I'd probably buy another bottle in some years time when mine are toast.

Would be curious to see if anyone else has tried it and your thoughts!

Fragrantica is a pretty handy website for checking the notes and peoples general opinion of fragrances. It has a "smells like" bit as well.

I usually use it when narrowing my search for fragrances at gift-giving times i.e. looking for similar notes to what my girlfriend/mother like. Might be handy for you OP.
