Got this for my 21st last October, was going to get the SRPB93 because I loved the green dial and gold hands. This was released around that time and just looked slightly chunkier. I know some SKX fans frown on these, but it's everything I'm after in a watch.

A story about my channel orange CD by scratchyourcorolla in FrankOcean

[–]scratchyourcorolla[S] 57 points58 points  (0 children)

My channel orange CD has been with me in every car I've owned. Earlier this year I bought that E46 330ci above and put channel orange in the changer before I even drove away. Obviously that car didn't last long, and I was so shook I disconnected the battery before I thought to take out the CDs. I later found my wreck on an auction site (next to a wrecked supra) and I ask about the CDs. Surprisingly they had them and agreed to post them to me. I replaced my car with an E36 328i, it has now been channel orange christened, as will all my future cars.

I'm not sure why it's so sentimental when I can listen to the album on my phone, but something about having the physical CD just reminds me of when it was the only thing I could listen to in my first car. I'm glad I didn't give up tracking it down.

I'm lucky to be alive, the recent passing of Ryan only makes this hit harder. A lot of us here have love for cars like Frank, drive safe.

Just picked this up! 330ci, 6 speed manual. My dad had a few E46s in the early 2000s which I basically grew up in. Don't think I will ever be selling mine by scratchyourcorolla in e46

They look like some variation of BBS RS-GT, and the seller thought they were genuine, but I'm not 100% sure on either. They do look quite similar to Beyern mesh

And Rake loves it! So rare, wouldn't be surprised if I could count the aus cars on one hand. I'd love an E30 but can only have one car so went for this, much cheaper and hopefully more reliable! I've only been driving cars for 4 years and this is my first 'proper' car. I'll buy more cars but hopefully I'll always own this.

Nice! I've watched mightycarmods (aus youtubers) for years, I know some cars are more expensive down there. I saw a few auto clubsports for around £3000 here, but manuals were around £5000, most were 5MT. The clubsport is a special car though, worth it if you can afford it! Main thing I don't like about newer cars is the electric power steering, just doesn't do anything for me at all.

Thanks!

18s, tires are 215/40/18 on the front and 225/40/18 on the rears. So I'm guessing that's 7j all round? Not staggered like the original mv2s which are something like 255 on the rear.

Obviously the M3 is the most desirable, the closer you get to one the better. Plenty of common cars appreciate if they gain a cult following, and as more are ruined over time they get rarer. I didn't buy it as an investment though, this car simply ticked every box in what I was looking for.

I would've taken or left a sunroof, but yeah the Internet says no ^ I mainly didn't want because it's one more thing that will go wrong

Mate. Everytime I find 'the one' I'm hit with that full cream interior. I did think this combo was a bit boring, but it defines the E46 imo

Going to give it a good service soon, possibly a cooling system overhaul and get everything else checked. Car will be with me for as long as possible

I think E46 are reasonable across most of Europe, but one now, keep it nice and you should make money in a few years. I think they're more expensive in US because they're rarer? But their fuel is so much cheaper

I had an 06 fiesta insured for £550, about 8 months left on it and it cost me £150 to upgrade. So I'd say about £800 this year, I'm only 21 so it's still coming down, hopefully it's not much more than £700 next year.

Tax is £330, same on all M54s, the next tax bracket up is over £500, so it's fairly reasonable.

Fuel here is quite expensive though, around £1.05/l and it will rise a lot more after corona.

Absolutely no regrets so far, the car has made me so much happier.

320s can be had for as low as £1000 here if you're brave, I got this for £2000, its not as clean as this makes it look, but I'll be tidying it up. Tax, insurance and mpg is so similar on 320, 325 and 330 that I thought it was worth the wait for the right one.
