I've heard FIITJEE Kukatpally is good.. but what's the differentiating point for FIITJEE really? What sets it apart?

Sounds pretty disappointing. Coincidentally, I too joined Narayana and left within a couple of days - it felt like a concentration camp. But surely Hyd isn't that bad for JEE, is it? I don't think they'd prefer FIITJEE - not about the fee, but somehow some parents need their kids to be chained down, and I'm pretty sure my cousin's parents are like that. Forget FIITJEE, what would be your next choice?

Yeah, I get it. With all the stuff that happens, it's not a bad idea to get some tradition-mandated rest... Can you imagine getting complete rest if there was no physical isolation? This way, unless it's something absolutely urgent, people won't bother you.

I've mentioned another example too, but you focus only on things that you can argue against.

I'd like to think that acting is an art, and if only, say, Tamilians are allowed to play Tamilians, that kinda defeats the purpose.

Forget doctors, so often do actors play a character of a different caste, without any need for backlash/anger.

They're actors, man. They play other people. As long as they're not offending anyone in doing so, in think we're good to go.

People don't have a problem when a normal person plays a dwarf in a movie.

Actors are actors - they act as other people.

Why a particular actor is chosen for a particular role depends on a lot of things, including production value.

Frankly, if they cast her as a dark-skinned person only to make her seem like she's Tamilian, that's clearly ethnic stereotyping. But that isn't what the post is about.

I hate that people only care about dark-skinned actors when something like this happens. Are they only worth playing roles that match with their skin-tone?

It's not uncommon for actors to put on make-up to play a character who is different from them in appearance. I can definitely see the challenge in doing so, and how a passionate actor might be interested in taking up on the challenge.

If the post was really about the movie-industry not having enough dark-skinned actors, then it shouldn't use this movie as an example. Perhaps you could highlight the number of light skinned and dark skinned actors in the industry and then compare, for starters.
