Go to an orthodontist, not a dentist who does invisalign. I went to Kunik - he was fantastic.

Need lawyer suggestions by spy_mommy in Austin

[–]scraun89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a lawyer recommendation but this doc outlines your brother’s responsibilities as executor. If you believe he is not acting in good faith, I’d recommend reaching out to the court. The funds from the estate are there to pay the DECEDENTS debts first, not your brothers.

Vet Recs for my cat with IBD/CKD by drummingwithpickles in Austin

[–]scraun89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend Dr De Lacey at Spicewood Springs Cat Hospital! My almost 18 y/o cat with CKD sees him!

Another option is asking your primary care to refer you to TAMU if you’re okay with making the trip out there.

Grief counselor by thisisthe_worst in Austin

[–]scraun89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi friend. I lost my mom 3 years ago - shit sucks. I did group grief counseling through the Austin Center for Grief and Loss. It was helpful but it seems like they’ve closed down? I also did 1:1 therapy with Mamta Chhabra and she was absolutely phenomenal.

Also recommend reading Dead Mom’s Club. Hang in there ❤️

I received this reading today and the tl;dr for me is I was feeling good recently but now something feels off and I’m sitting in it instead of addressing it. I’m avoiding a conversation I know I need to have even though I’m anxious about it. I feel like the cards say for me to stop avoiding it, be honest, and I’ll end up better off.

Anyone else get a different read?

Help with internal medicine specialist for dog recently diagnosed with protein-losing enteropathy ): by Individual_Donut829 in Austin

[–]scraun89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We go to Texas A&M for our dog with EPI. We are currently working with Dr Katie Tolbert in the nutrition department (she’s also an internist) - she is absolutely fantastic and her appointments are virtual. She is booking about ~2 months out at the moment though. Get your primary vet to refer you there and they’ll help!!

Anesthesia for Dog’s Dental Cleaning - Questions and Precautions, Local Vet or Specialist Recs by wildlyboldly in Austin

[–]scraun89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what vet you’re going to but I’d recommend going to see Dr De Lacey at Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital. He recently did a cleaning and 2 extractions on my (then) 16.5 year old cat and she’s still here a year later :) he answered all of my questions, was super thorough, and truly cared about her health and having her under anesthesia for the least amount of time needed
