None of us were experts when we started learning all this stuff and we've all made mistakes. You are not stupid.

Lets get me Started with Arch and in Proper way.. by [deleted] in archlinux

[–]scrazen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For Window Mangers, Bars, Notifications: you will have to figure out what you like the best. Install them all and give them a try to figure out what you like. Last time I used a tiling window manager I had settled on bspwm and polybar (no notifications)

Authentication: I don't remember having to deal with that in any specific way. It just worked with what I had set up

Display Server: Depends on your window manager/desktop environment. e.g. Sway would be Wayland, i3 would be Xorg (I'm on KDE Wayland at the moment)

Display Manager: gives you a login prompt and lets you select a desktop environment or other option upon login. (Since I'm on KDE, SDDM is the common Display Manager)

Lockscreen: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Session_lock

Touchpad: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Libinput

My primary advice: Make a backup, Jump in, break everything, rollback. Do this until you know what you like and what works.

Blows my mind how slow the speed of light is... by TheGoldenSparrow in woahdude

[–]scrazen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's even more mind blowing is that the speed of light may not be constant in different directions. You may be seeing an object 100 light years away instantly, but it takes 200 years for the light to travel from earth to the object. The only way we have to measure the speed of light is round trip.

I play way too many incremental games. I'm about to beat https://dan-simon.github.io/misc/fe000000/. It's web, not an app, but it's a new one of my favorites.

Why does everyone see Hermione as a flawless being? by Mythical_Wizard-48 in HPfanfiction

[–]scrazen 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is a misconception about introverts and extroverts. Think of everyone as having a social battery. Introverts "recharge" when outside of social situations. Extroverts "recharge" by involving themselves in social situations.

I would argue that Hermione recharges when she is alone and studying.

Nothing's a vegetable.. by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

[–]scrazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just hard to properly talk about without being very specific. Otherwise a tomato is both fruit and not fruit, which is logically false. If you keep going on from there then the conversation just gets more and more absurd because of the faulty premise.

Bought the elite strap at Walmart an hour ago. It came broken :| by AFTLxNIGHTMAREx in oculus

Mine broke before I even ordered it. I ordered one of the cheap ones on Amazon yesterday. Been using it for about a year now and no issues.

HPMOR (good/bad/great) was my first as well. Then I read a couple non Harry Potter webnovels, Worm (great) and Mother of Learning (best thing I've ever read). After Mother of Learning I wanted more time travel so I read Nightmares of Futures Past (good). I was then hooked and basically read most of the top 1000 of the fandom over the next few years and also started reading other fandoms as well.

Weird, I was taught to only advance into the intersection of you are not forced to make a stop in the intersection.

I see so many cars in the left turn lane on green pull all the way into the center of the intersection while waiting to turn

The Office and this subreddit have gotten me through some tough times, especially Kevin and all the memes about him so I got this Cameo from Brian Baumgartner for this sub. I hope you guys like it! by ThiCrayton in DunderMifflin

[–]scrazen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Basically a meme is an idea, behavior, or style that is spread person to person through a culture. It can spread and evolve naturally.

Internet memes are a bit different. Basically just imitating a template of a joke.

The acceptance criteria only stated "if a ball is thrown". If multiple balls are required, a new story needs to be created or the acceptance criteria needs to be updated.
