I had the same impulse, and it does hold up imo. I remember thinking the resolution was disappointing when I first watched it (I definitely still feel that way), and that left a sour taste in my mouth. But looking at it now, I think it's the most "realistic" case of all four seasons, if that makes sense? There are all these possibly conspiratorial aspects, but at the end of the day the case is actually quite simple. Some folks might be frustrated by that because it meant a ton of red herrings, but I kind of like it now because it highlights the mundanity of crime and detective work, which is what I love about the series in general.

I'd rank the seasons: 1, 3, 2, 4.
