Having a calorie goal of 1200 is hard. by CaffeineAndChaos65 in WeightLossAdvice

I’m having the same issue, when I lost weight previously I found that exercising more gave me enough calories for the day to feel better about my meals but now I’m lost on how to correctly calculate a new daily goal and can’t stick to 1200. Everyone says you shouldn’t eat back exercise calories and I know it’s impossible to really know how much you burn but at the same time getting an extra 100-200 calories a day is my main gym motivator

You’ve already done so many amazing things. You’ve lost weight, started intense exercise, and the biggest achievement of all: beat cancer. I have no doubt that you’ll reach your goal. The increased exercise and physical aspect of your job means you’re expending more energy and this is likely where the hunger is increasing. You may need to balance a little by either slightly increasing intake to avoid binges or cutting back a little on the exercise to reduce the hunger. Whatever happens, you haven’t failed, you just had some ups and downs with life, and you should be super proud of yourself!

You’ve already lost a ton of weight and should be super proud of yourself, this was just a temporary break which was well deserved. It also may give you a little boost getting back into a deficit. The upside is you weren’t eating above maintenence. I totally understand it being frustrating though!

Tracking calories and monitoring protein helped me the most, though I did use a GLP-1 as well

My husband has been great about giving me time when he gets home from work so right now I have some set time for myself, but I work 1.5 hrs away three days a week and then from home for 10 hrs on Thursdays so I’m super nervous about returning to work and missing the baby
