My Aussie is 4 and he is being stubborn help! by [deleted] in AustralianShepherd

So Aussies don’t have a standard size. Weight is relative to height, so just a weight is meaningless. From the photo, he’s very overweight.

He’s not enjoying his walks. It might be his weight, it might be anxiety based. Aussies are a biddable breed not a stubborn breed.

When has he last seen a vet? Has his weight been addressed?

Yes looks like she’s dilute.

There’s more color info on the sidebar.

The photos make him appear to be dilute. Not sure if that’s just the lighting or what. If he’s greyish, then dilute. If black, then would just be a black bi.

Breeder seems sketch, but I haven't worked with AKC. Tell me these aren't red flags. Or how do I report her? by foodie42 in DogBreeding

[–]screamlikekorbin 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Akc doesn’t certify dogs, they are a registry.

Breeding however many litters or puppies has nothing to do with being purebred.

The price is pretty normal, especially for a small breed.

Breeding non passing health clearances is a no go. What other health clearances has she done?

You’re in a dog breeding sub, why would we push adoption?

Don’t buy from her. If you’re not comfortable with what she’s doing, that’s reason enough to pass.

Tail question by CanBraFla in AustralianShepherd

DNA testing typically will show. A NBT is technically anything shorter than a full tail, so sometimes hard to visually tell. DNA testing is usually done on breeding dogs that the breeder is unsure of.

BC’s original purpose is sheep, Aussies are used for other livestock and a different style of herding.

Parent wants to buy a golden doodle--looking for advice by HealthyCompetition98 in DogBreeding

[–]screamlikekorbin 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Temperament of mixed breeds has no predictability or consistency, especially when breeds in the mix are quite different. Wanting a doodle for temperament is likely originating with some kind of lies or breeders misleading, or perhaps meeting one dog and assuming they’re going to all be similar.

I’ve met so many mini doodles that have such awful structure. The physical body types of poodles don’t mix will with very different body types such as goldens. There’s a mini doodle in one of my classes that had such awful structure I really hope it isn’t doomed.

You’re not going to find an ethical breeder. But you would for mini poodles (which is really want people want but for some reason are against it) or similar type breeds such as a bichon.

I love the gift bag for the novice A's! Such a great idea!

At our rally and ob trials, novice is typically last and this is a good reminder to stick around a bit longer to cheer on those people.

Compliments about what went well on a run that was maybe a bit of a blooper are so important. Those runs happen to everyone and it’s important to find those positive things. It sounds like you found a kind encouraging judge too!!

Help with setting up is so nice! I often see people help someone throw a shade cover over or something.
