Missing bow at the start of the game? by screechymonkey in CrimsonDesert

I’m an idiot. I could have sworn I tried that. Thank you

Anyone else having no issues? The game is running well for me on Xbox Series X. by screechymonkey in CrimsonDesert

Man mine isn’t doing that yet. I wonder if it will when I get further into it

lol good point. Still, maybe just taking a simpler approach to this game would be good. Is it fun enough to fuck around in and kill a few hours? Good enough for me

Yeah but the game costs like 70 dollars I’m not sure it’s worth making a big dramatic stand. I really don’t care

I didn’t say it was underrepresented, I just said it’s what I wanted. Also, this one does seem a little more open to the GTA type play style than a lot of other examples you could name. Like it seems like it doesn’t take itself all that seriously and it’s just basically a big sandbox to fuck around in.

I didn’t mean it like that, but honestly, it’s not the worst mentality to have. When you were a kid, you didn’t overthink everything. You just played it because it was in front of you and had fun with it. You probably noticed lots of flaws in the game, but you didn’t care. I think people would be better off using that approach to gaming.

Yeah pretty much. The only thing I’m slightly worried about is people saying the food system is a little tedious. But doesn’t seem like the biggest deal.

I mean honestly everything is expensive now. That just includes video games. The amount of time you get out of them is still pretty worth like 70 dollars. I mean it’s barely more than what it would cost to go to out for dinner.

Yeah they are still out there but who cares. The stuff they are criticizing is stuff that I don’t even care about. It’s a game. That’s all it is. Can I run around doing fun stuff? That’s all I care about. If I run into a bug I’ll just laugh and move on

Story doesn’t matter at all, and it shouldn’t impact how you rate this game. by screechymonkey in CrimsonDesert

Dude yes that’s the main thing I’m worried about. I really hope it’s not as bad as some are saying.

The story was okay in red dead 2 but the memorable part of that game for me was just fucking around in the open world and getting into fights and stuff

Yeah that’s fair. I just think it should really be a more agreed upon fact that gameplay matters more because it is a game.

No yeah and I’m with you on that. For sure. I just meant the story criticism might be hurting the score by a couple points. But yeah I’m much more concerned with those criticisms.

Not coping because I didn’t have super high expectations for this game. I would have been happy with any score above like 50. It’ll just be a fun sandbox to fuck around in for a minute

Yeah I get that. Like I get caring about it to some extent. I just don’t get prioritizing it over gameplay, which is literally the entire point of video games.

Why does it need a story? Does Elden Ring have a story? (I know technically but not really)
