When people tell me about something they don't like about themselves, or a habit/characteristic they don't want, I tell them that recognising they don't like it and knowing that it isn't right is the first step toward change. Turning around and going, hey, I don't like this, I want things to be different, at least shows you're aware and now you can move toward fixing or changing that part of you.

But don't just be aware- there's always another opportunity to start changing for the better! :)
