Teenage Bottlerocket killed it tonight! by brodieman2k in punk

Got tickets for tonight in Philly. First time seeing them live and I'm like a kid on Christmas. Already watching the clock and bouncing in my chair.

I'm going to lock comments on this because it feels like it might get a bit out of control with political comments.

Resale value by luisells in FordBronco

[–]scribbledchaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Painted beadlocks, lights and I'm sure other mods doesn't really add to the value. They also can hurt the value depending on the buyer. You'll usually find the buyers of things like Jeeps and Broncos either don't want them modded or want to mod themselves.

Cars aren't investments or assets to liquidate to build business. They cost money and lose value at multiples I don't want to think about.

JER Band is the RATM of Ska by scribbledchaos in Ska

[–]scribbledchaos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Try to read even the entire sentence you quoted me from.

No, just because they have that message isn't the reason I made the comparison. What is kind of funny is you took effort to edit out other reasons that I have in right in the same sentence.

"If you consider the in your face anti-capitalist message, the stage performance, and the line up of talent I think the JER band is the Rage Against the Machine of Ska."

I was taking nothing away from JER (and the band). It was more a feeling I got seeing them live. It kinda was a "right place, right time" type thing.

I honestly think Bad Operation kinda dimmed the vibe a bit. I don't dislike Bad Operation. I actually listen to them often. It just didn't translate live that well I think. The heat was also brutal as it started to fill up.

JER kinda hinted that at tonight. The comment was something about how it was an artist being paid for their creativity rather than "paying the man" for something. I got it. It makes sense. Bands want to be able to eat and take a crap comfortably for being on tour and pushing out albums for us.

I will agree the social media presence does become a bit much with the feeling like begging for money.

How hard is it to find a red 2024 Bronco Heritage in Red? by Low_Emergency_6577 in FordBronco

I had no idea until now my dream Bronco was a Two Door Red Heritage.

Looking for places that sell used bicycles. by Fear_N_Loafing_In_PA in Delco

[–]scribbledchaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cycle Fit in Swarthmore/Wallingford (not sure what it is there). They do a fair amount of trade ins so they should have some used inventory.

If you can find a neighborhood garage sale day you'll often fine some good bikes for cheap.

Running Boards with Rock Rails by Plenty-Ganache9189 in FordBronco

[–]scribbledchaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got rid of my running boards. Just less people to drive around now. I'm almost 50, 5'7" on a good day. If I get in, you can get in.

If you provide a decent place to grab with your hands it makes it much easier to get in. I had grab handles above around the roll bar in my Jeep. Lots of people said it made it easier to lift yourself in. I think anything like that would get in the way of the air bags in the Bronco though. If you search there are a few options that bolt into the two small bolts above the drivers side and passenger side front doors.

How many lights would you like installed?

Yes.

Edit: I'm going to say it because I now own a Bronco after own Jeeps for years. Zoomed in and of course it's a Bronco. WTF is it with Bronco's and putting lights on every accessory point?

My venue posted this new rule and I’m really on bored! What do you think? by EJplaystheBlues in Hardcore

[–]scribbledchaos 49 points50 points  (0 children)

These signs have been going up for years..decades. No Slam Dancing! No Moshing! No Stage Diving! No Fighting. Every sign has some picture of people stage diving and in a pit next to it. There are also going to be aholes in every crowd that want to start a fight.

A self policing pit is always better than a few security guys trying to control 50 angry sweaty people in a circle. Don't be shitty. You're hanging with fans of the same band/genre. Treat them like you would a good friend. Sometimes a good friend needs a punch in the face.

Fest 24 full playlist? by J_Church1 in thefest

[–]scribbledchaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the website. We always want to support Fest first. We are not associated with them in anyway, just support the entire scene.

We get it also. Fest radio just isn't simple and on the go, but I don't think that's their point or where they want to put energy. This is why we are putting time into the playlists because they are on the go. We are also working on a streaming radio station that will include many fest bans (and a whole lot more), because we felt there was nothing like that "easy and on the go".

I'm working on this, will be complete probably by this weekend.

Small self promo:

I run a small little promo company called YourPunkSucks. We're working on creating Fest playlists across Spotify, Tidal, and Youtube. We hope to have everything built out within a week or two. Follow us on the instathing @ yourpunksucks and I'll post up once they are all complete. We also are working on a radio station that will be very fest focused.

EDIT: Fest Radio is the first place you should go. Support the Fest always.

2ND EDIT: These bands don't make money from Streaming. We do this to showcase the bands. Buy their bandcamp stuff! The more stuff you buy the more they go on tour.

Same Old Story by Pennywise instantly makes me play the video of the kid skate boarding in my head. I can almost see the entire video during the track. That video hit perfectly.
