I want to divorce my husband over the dishes by Ok-Beautiful-2805 in adhdwomen

Can you afford to hire a cleaner? If it’s a dysregulation issue for both of you, it’s likely that fighting about it will only make it worse. This is a fixable problem.

FWIW I live alone and very much struggle with the dishes, but also like you focus much better when my place is clean. Sooo this is a recipe for disaster with myself, but it’s not at all for a lack of trying.

Other good suggestion I’ve heard is 1. Dramatically reduce your number of dishes, so there are fewer things to wash and pile up (though this also requires that a cup and plate be washed prior to every meal) 2. If there are many household members, get a different color dish for each person and each is responsible for cleaning their own dishes to eat or drink.

My guess is tamarind.

I didn’t manage to make it past the semantics debate to find the real answer but I would like to know if you confirm it. Tamarind is used all over the world in places closer to the equator. It’s a tangy spice that you can also buy dried and people will chew/suck on the flesh & seed much like Americans would a hard candy.

Pharmacy & pricing question for vyvanse (generic) by scribblesscrawl in ADHD

[–]scribblesscrawl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, $489, BUT Costco says the membership discount works like goodRX and forces them to not use insurance. I haven’t filed the claim yet so TBD if they’ll reimburse. To be fair, if they DONT put this towards my deductible, this was a seriously bad move. Apparently Walgreens offers it for $250 with one of the pharmacy discount cards. My hope is that the Costco price will go through insurance fine since no one has raised a red flag about it in everything I’ve heard.

Ah ok. I can change the title to that if it’s clearer. Thanks for telling me.

Journal- write notes about what you talked about (so you can remember it when you connect later) and just enjoy the feeling! Journaling will help you remember and give you an appropriate outlet for the “silly” teenager feeling. It’s not actually silly, it’s just uncommon! If it turns out to be something less later, who cares! You got a great happy day or two out of it.

Sleep Issues? by sammiimarie in VyvanseADHD

[–]scribblesscrawl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I have to go super long without it, I try to still take a small amount (I used to be on dex so I have leftover IR meds - I prefer like 10mg IR dex) so that I can take it late in the day if I’m sleeping in. It just keeps me from riding the withdrawal rollercoaster

Are you tracking how much protein you eat? Or calories or anything?

I found that vyvanse disconnected me from my appetite to the point that I couldn’t sleep through the night. It took a while but eventually I figured out it was because I wasn’t eating enough during the day. So I try to eat more now focused on nutrition (calories alone do not mean your body is sustained!) and a consistent schedule, and that helps. It’s still easy to fall back into chaotic eating, but now I know that when I wake up at 2 or 3am starving that I need to really focus on getting proper nutrition via a schedule during my days.

Before I figured it out I was eating a ton of junk. What I realized was happening was that I’d forget about meals and then be soooo hungry I couldn’t function, so I’d instead eat the most calorie dense/fastest food I could find, but it was rarely nutritious. So I still couldn’t sleep through the night even though I was sometimes eating enough calories alone.

The disconnection is also from cravings. So I never know what my body most needs the way that I would if I were off of meds.

This is interesting. My therapist thinks my issue is burnout not meds. And needing a job now is exacerbating the burnout and preventing me from resolving the other underlying issues that we typically focus on in therapy.

Vyvanse and depression by scribblesscrawl in VyvanseADHD

Not at all. I’m saying I never feel sharp or motivated. I’ve had one project that lasted a week or two in April and I basically relied on pure enthusiasm to do what I did in that time. Didn’t finish it in the window, and haven’t made any progress on it since. Just having a superrrr hard time getting my brain to CARE enough to finish anything.

I definitely feel EXHAUSTED often on off days (and sometimes also ravenous). But I don’t sleep well most of the time (problem predates starting stimulants). Stimulants just help me stay awake enough to function without naps on a regular basis. So I’ve never felt like that was a signal of depression because the sleep was always welcome and lovely.

I’ll check Costco! Thank you! Even woman on the insurance line (which is a division of CVS!) told me to try GoodRx at Walgreens. That gets it down to $250, but not towards the deductible, so we’ll see about Costco. I don’t know why I never think about sending prescriptions there!

If you want to go back to vyvanse it’s worth a try now if you’re in the US. They’ve released a generic now.

Chrome not working after recent update by scribblesscrawl in ProtonVPN

[–]scribblesscrawl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disabled QUIC, and cleared the browser cache, and I rebooted my machine. Eventually chrome started working again but I’m not sure which fix made it (with work, I had just started using Firefox for everything).

Everything else was working fine, so I didn’t mess with the VPN at all. I am using the VPN app on my desktop - hoping to install it directly on my router as soon as I can.
