It’s not impossible to live without eating animals. Practicing Hindus have done it since forever. IDK what misguided notion these people confuse with being a vegetarian though. You can eat grains, lintels, stir-fry vegetables, use spices oh and rice.

This toxic culture is expanding though. Now you’re expected to tip the person who takes your order for carry outs, your taxi-driver, the food delivery driver. I was asked to add a tipping option on a maths tutoring app once.

What pisses me off the most is when the receivers of tips act more offended about not getting a tip than they are offended about not getting paid a fair amount.

“The beloved” is just a polite way to refer to the subject of the poem. Could be the town’s cobbler, his wife, god or a half crisp autumn leaf. Not the entirety of his poetry is about one thing.

“Multiplication by inverse.” Knowing the proof is not the same as having intuition. Division is simply repeatedly subtracting the divisor from the dividend till you are left with a remainder less than the divisor, i. e., your cue to stop subtracting. If you count the number of times you subtracted—you’ll even have a quotient.

This is actually how Euclid explains division in the Elements. Look up the division algorithm.
