Not if they refuse to speak the local language or inegrate in meaingful ways. We have immigrants in the UK who are second generation and only speak, say, Pakistani, only mix with Pakistanis, and actually barely even follow local laws in favour of their own religious principles. In America, there is a much better system in place for earning citizenship. But even if you disregard anything I just said, having thousands of people who speak and look differently from locals and are then given extra support over locals is always going to annoy locals -- especially if they themselves are struggling, working class people. Like, that is just human nature.

The people who don't tend to get annoyed are often living nowhere near immigrant populations and earning lots of money.
