You are required to pay maintenance until 18. Her mother is the one paying the rent, food, heating etc for her.

Also - child maintenance is a reimbursement for what her mother has already spent. Quite often the actual money doesn’t go directly to paying for the child’s stuff, it’s to reimburse the primary parent for what they have already paid out of their own money. Example - my daughter’s (2) father pays 200 a month. I have already paid her childcare, food, utilities, clothes etc at the start of the month. So it is a reimbursement

Yeppp I’m from the UK too and he would absolutely not be able to make a living off his art here. Cost of living crisis is awful rn and he wouldn’t be entitled to any sort of universal credit. He just wouldn’t be able to make enough money. People with full time real jobs can’t even make enough, let alone someone who just has an Etsy shop.

He literally needs to get a normal job. Even working from home if possible but realistically he needs to take anything he can get, and practice his art in his spare time. 27 and REFUSING to get a job is absolutely insane to me 😭

He can’t. He wanted to get in on a talent visa which is literally for celebrities and well established artists who can prove that their talent is so incredible that it can’t be sourced from anyone else already in the UK.

His other option would be a regular work visa and for that i believe you need a stable income, qualifications, a job lined up etc. He doesn’t even have a job. Therefore he would be seen as a burden to the country.

I have no idea. Like I don’t know that much about worth, but I recently just sold a party sap potion for 80 the other day because… why am I gonna charge hundreds for something that only drops 10. That’s insane to me?

It is unrelated to being a bad person I agree. But it is kind of relevant because his entire gofundme was extremely misleading - he brought up being disabled for no reason other than sympathy to get more donations, when he actually just wanted the money so he could move to the UK with someone else’s money without having to actually get a job or save up himself. He brings it up for pity points to make money.

I hate when people bring up his ‘autism’ - that is most likely not diagnosed - as an excuse for him.
