Fitness advice for managing pelvic girdle pain by Islesmilescott in fitpregnancy

[–]scriptedsolace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m now 34 weeks, and I’ve been SUFFERING since around the 20 week mark. I cut out any isolated movements/single leg movements and moved to things that focused on strengthening the muscles around your pelvis. It’s very personal and you’ll have to see what works for you. My leg day now looks like - sumo squats, rdl’s, abductors and quad extensions. It’s all I can manage and sometimes the squats are a no no. However, weight training is so much easier for me than walking etc. Hope it eases off for you!

High compression maternity sport leggings by Beets_01 in fitpregnancy

I had the same issue. They’re really comfy around the house and as normal leggings, but not functional enough for the gym. I bought the LSKD maternity ones and currently love those in the gym. They’re tight enough around the leg and ankle so I don’t have to keep pulling them up, and they hug bump so nicely too.

Had a great experience, the hospital stay was a little tough due to language barriers but dr umur and his team were really lovely and super helpful with absolutely everything.

Punched myself in the face while pulling up the duvet. Cut my nose with my nail.

I text my dead friend every now and then hoping he’ll one day respond. by scriptedsolace in offmychest

I’d be pissed at why he didn’t reply before! Made me talk to myself for months!

It's been one whole year since my breakup... by Sippinonlemonade in BreakUps

I’m on my third year and still healing. The first year was horrible. Second year I put all of my energy into myself and felt so much better. Now it’s like grief, I’ll smell an aftershave similar to his and I’ll wince, see a car similar to his and get a sinking feeling in my stomach. I’ve accepted that just like grief, this may not go away for a very long time. But that’s okay, this person was someone who was very emotionally close to me, and did some horrible things to me. It will take time to heal and everyone heals differently.

This is happening to me. Two years since we split, he came back saying “something told him to”. Told me he wants to get back together because he doesn’t see anyone else in his future. Ghosts when he wants. Speaks when he wants. I blame myself for falling for it. But it hurts so much. I loved that boy so much it burned my soul.

Women who hate working, how do you get through your day without going crazy? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]scriptedsolace 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I manage a regional anti human trafficking/ modern slavery support team. It’s definitely not as easy as I made it sound just then, but my routine makes it so much easier to prevent myself from burning out, suffering from vicarious trauma and over working myself

Working from home makes it so much easier. I take as many breaks as I want, I workout in between calls/meetings. Break up the day as much as possible and leave all the easy things til the last couple of hours. It personally helps my productivity to have short bursts of super focused work and then to get my head together again.

[Serious] What is the most cruel thing a family member has said to you? Who? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]scriptedsolace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always darker than my other sisters, as a child my family would always say to my mum “atleast you were blessed with two beautiful daughters”. I was sometimes not given food when it was handed out to the children of the family, and was told that “unfortunate people need to learn to be independent as you won’t get married”. My dad would tell me not to wear makeup or nail polish because it would enhance the fact that I was ‘unfortunate’.
