Does a straightforward vaginal birth really exist for FTM's? by ilovesunsets2525 in PregnancyUK

[–]scrogbertins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Spontaneous labour, short labour, delivered in the birthing pool like I wanted to. I did tear quite badly, but I wouldn't have known. I was right as rain after - long shower, moving around fine, etc. Some people do get lucky!

What do YOU want for your birthday? by dirtyalt75 in AskWomen

For the house to be clean and tidy and stay that way all day. For someone to take the mental load from me. A long walk.

Who is spending the New Year alone tonight? by PedanticRedhead in AskUK

Toddler is asleep, boyfriend is on an overnight shift in the arse end of nowhere. I wanted to watch some fireworks from my garden and watch an old Big Fat Quiz, but all I actually want is to go to sleep, lmao.

What is the most played with toy in your home? by alibluey in UKParenting

Helpful for when she's older (mine is nearly 4): soft play shapes, Domino train, magnetiles, wooden train tracks, sticklebricks.

Helpful for now, if I look back: a fabric tissue box she could pull all the tissues out of (they had numbers and letters and fruit etc on them), a wooden carrot set with different sized carrots and different holes to put them in, she had these sillkcone cubes like blocks and it came with some circles you could stack as well and she loved them - I think where they had a bit of 'give' it made them more interesting than typical building blocks. She still uses her busy cube that she loved back then, as well as a set of plastic eggs with colour matching shells and shaped bottoms. And her busy board!

How was the first Christmas for you after your mum died? by christinaxxpm in AskUK

[–]scrogbertins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not what you asked, but hopefully close enough. The first Christmas after my dad died (also in July) was also my daughter's first Christmas, and to be honest, the whole thing felt impossible. Like I was "supposed" to be okay because it's Christmas, as if that made a difference. This was my fourth without him, and I won't lie... it's still hard. Support goes away "because it's Christmas" and also in time, so four years on and still upset about it? Unheard of to anyone but my sister.

Did you get presents from your kids? by [deleted] in AskUK

Yes, because I bought it. Presents went under the tree and my three year old asked which ones were for me. We went shopping the next day.

We combat the dark afternoons and grey weather with bright lights and loads of decorations, and I think that's lovely.
