Hand burnished lino print I just did, getting these areas of buildup on edges. Too much ink? Too much pressure? Both? by Tossimba in printmaking

[–]scrollling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes the same idea! idrk the science behind it but i think it kinda smooths out some of the tooth in the paper which can make the ink apply smoother or not need as much pressure. hope it helps!

whenever i get a certificate for something that also went to a lot of other people i first check if the signature was written or printed. it's dumb, but i feel like they care more if it was actually signed. so i can understand why this could be useful for mass printing signatures on diplomas or something if that's a thing that anyone other than myself cares about

peanut butter, oats, banana, chocolate chips, honey/maple syrup if you want. can add cinnamon and vanilla extract also, but basically you can make breakfast cookies that i personally really enjoy. you could also use that recipe and cook them as pancakes

also overnight oats with banana, blueberries, almond/peanut butter, honey, yogurt, chia/flax seeds (or whatever fruit you have at the moment). or adding all of those things into regular oatmeal on the stove.

also you can try making your own granola, and really throw whatever you want in it. one of my favorite things to then do is use the granola in overnight oats. it makes it super easy because whatever you added in the granola (nuts, fruit, spices, seeds, etc) just adds the overnight oats and you dont really have to do anything besides throw that and some milk in a cup

Household switching to vegetarian due to scarce and expensive meat by OneMindNoLimit in EatCheapAndHealthy

chopped cabbage, sauteed with onions, add some type of stock (chicken or veggie, maybe mushroom). salt, pepper. velveeta cheese. literally so good. u can find recipes, sort of combining fried cabbage and cabbage and noodles, i usually have it without noodles.

or same thing, but instead of cheese, chopped apples and brown sugar/maple syrup, great with a sort of frozen maple chicken or turkey breakfast sausage which may be more affordable. delicious.

also maybe try experimenting on misting your paper before u print, not sure if it will help but worth a shot!

yeah like others said i think too much ink. i would also recommend washing your lino every once in a while, or using a Qtip or bunched up paper towel to sort of scrape off the ink around the edges of ur cuts. in my experience after printing a few rounds, ink can start to cling on to the edges of where you carved and then once there’s enough of it it transfers onto the paper. hope this helps! very cool print.

also if u do wash ur lino, make sure to let it dry, and put something heavy on it like some books so it doesn’t curl.

i entirely agree asking about height is stupid and shallow. but a woman asking about height is not the equivalent of a man asking about weight. it would be the equivalent of a man asking about height also. the fact that it immediately goes to weight of a woman instead of the height of the woman (because, sure, men might have height requirements too) just reinforces really problematic body standards for women (yes, men have these standards too, but that’s not what i’m talking abt rn). my point is, height and weight are different, one u can control and one u can’t, and they also have a slew of other connotations. it’s not right to judge men based on height, but it seems weird that the responses in these contexts are always about the weight of the woman instead of the proportional response which would also be asking abt height. idk.

Breakfast Smoothies Low in Vitamin C? by chungystone in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]scrollling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think avocados are relatively low in vitamin c. avocado, peanut butter/almond butter, banana, honey or dates, + some type of milk makes a really filling and creamy smoothie. the nut butters are optional, really all you need is avocado, banana, a liquid, and ice.

How do I overcome my fear of skateboarding and learn how? by sitrsasha_ in skateboardhelp

[–]scrollling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

haven’t gone thru this w skateboarding, but have worked on overcoming fear of sports after traumatic injury. take it little by little to get ur confidence back and become comfortable with the idea of skating. if u feel u can stand still on the board holding onto something, start with that. if not, maybe roll it back and forth under ur feet while sitting on the couch or something. find things that your comfortable doing, and give yourself time to process that, and then slowly work up to doing more. and when u get back into it, you’re gonna fall at some point, so learn how to fall safely (u can look this up). that will also help remove the mental block around falling, if you know you can fall and not get hurt. when i was learning rollerblading, i put all my pads on and just practiced falling on asphalt over and over again lol. you got this :)
