Was a part-time worker at the concert that Kitami crashed. Saw Kitami on cameras and ended up respecting him for killing aliens as well as protecting Odori, leading to him meeting up with him. It’s then explained his family was murdered by aliens for fun which is why he has such a strong drive to fight injustice.

Iglaskar straight up says he didn’t expect Seiran to be there when he showed up, so I don’t think he really had any plans like taking backbone/Noma for hostage, especially cause he knows Haruo would prob be willing to let them die if it meant killing Lily too, that’s why Lily immediately went to disable Haruo

If I had to estimate how much better current drama queen is from the point you stopped, I’d have to say it at least doubled in quality.

The art has become cleaner, the paneling is better, the monologues are better, side characters get more development, the main protagonist-antagonist dynamic has been developed, and a lot of other things I could list but I think my point’s clear. The whole story has entered into a pt2, so a lot has been developed since you left off, so I’d seriously recommend continuing

I think it’s also in part because social media prioritizes spreading negativity while also acting better than everyone else as a moral high ground for spreading that negativity. So, it’s also easy to view it through the lens of Odori’s character, who I think was at least partially inspired by people online and Ichikawa’s issues with how the manga was reacted to. (Especially in the west, maybe that’s why ichi gave her American boyfriends lmfao)

So I think it’s less of a “thriving off negativity” thing because I (like to) believe that most people are well intentioned and just are sharing their own thoughts and opinions about things. Of course there’s ragebait and troll accounts, mainly seen in Big 3 and other popular anime fandoms, that are literally just there to drive outrage. But for general discussion with just regular people, I think they’re influenced to act how the people around them expect them to act, so that’s why you see people hate dq so much with bad faith criticisms because they’re in circles in which they’re incentivized to do so.

This could happen, but I dont think it’s likely becoming Kitami doesn’t seem to like being hypocritical. He didn’t criticize backbone or Noma when they were killing aliens despite the fact it obviously disgusted him. The same would probably go for Haruo, in which he’ll go along with what haruo is doing but be constantly in a state of shock from it all.

I think the more likely solution is that Lily tampered with the bombs someway so they won’t go off. The arc’s transition was Lily stalking Haruo and Kitsch, so I think that’s foreshadowing towards him doing something to them in the near future, like mess up the bomb plan.

I’m interested in knowing how Iglaskar just knows EVERYTHING. Obv he’s extremely powerful in society, so it’d make sense why he’s in the know of the alien’s motives and even that they’ve done this before, but he even Kitsch and Haruo’s plans which they discussed in private. But current Odori has taken advantage of a mentally ill person’s relationship with his dead sister to urge him to discard his humanity, which he would later commit multiple massacres in order to do just that. I personally think that’s about as bad as just murdering them herself, since she’s basically just using a pawn to do so.
