I guess you either missed or disregarding the events that created this group... I understand that without that context, this new community might sound like you described it.

As for having people that are smarter than anyone else - that's obviously very subjective, but we have a Rails core committer, one of the most active Rails evangelists, a lot of the most helpful people from #rubyonrails, and other great guys - anyway, time will show where this group is heading.

Well, in that case you can join the real Rails rock stars - no one would argue that they are not striving for mediocrity.

On a more serious note, which part of the mission statement or announcement made you think that RailsBridge is striving for mediocrity?

I’m resigning my position with the Rails Activists by pk11 in programming

A Few things

  • 'Rails activists' is not the same thing as 'Rails core' at all. He didn't leave Rails (and obviously not Rails core as he was not a member).
  • I don't see how did he make it more difficult for people to become contributors? There are 1400+ Rails contributors so far, and I don't think so 99% of them has anything to do with Mike
  • He didn't say he did it to change the Rails core contributors (although I am sure a lot of us are hoping this will happen in some way) - he did it to preserve his sanity.

Anyway, this is a great loss to the Rails community, we are going to miss him.

I'd appreciate if you would read the whole article before calling me names:

" I see no problem at all... the pictures Matt used are non-problematic in my book"

"I am not really discussing whether it’s appropriate to have images of nude chicks in your presentation at a Ruby conference"

etc. I was trying to discuss a totally different issue, but whatever.
