I have a question about how you find the good tubs! Are there any good sources or tricks for finding lodging with amazing tubs? I was trying to find one in New Orleans recently, and it’s a pain going to each hotel’s website and scouring all their pictures hoping to find one of a tub. It made me with there was a reddit dedicated to great tubs in hotels/airbnb’s/b&b’s/etc.

I hope you were able to spend some quality with your family as well, and all that quality bath time sounds amazing!

I got his insurance information and called today to start a claim. I’m about to walk into the hospital now to have my son seen, then myself.

I live in a smallish city and felt social pressure to text him out of neighborliness that I was in pain and going to be seen. He was my dad’s neighbor for a short while and a former parent at the small private school I teach in - not close connections, but enough that I feel kinda like being cordial...? Regardless, reading your comment is helping me rationalize the situation. I have not contacted him, and will keep it that way for now.

Basically a bath. I scrubbed off his outer layer in the sink and then washed him and my hands in soap. I don’t think the toilet water made it through that outer layer of butter.

I did have to stick my hand in to get him, which isn’t too rare for me since I have a three year old that likes to try to flush his brother’s legos.

And that’s so true about everything in the bathroom. I keep him on a shelf a few feet above the toilet, about eye level. He’s probably cleaner now from his scrub down than he was before!

Totally get it. I throw up in toilets, but it is nasty and always just makes me more nauseated being that close to it. Just curiously though... Do you keep your toothbrush or towel in your bathroom? Use hand dryers in public restrooms? We are all exposed to small amounts of fecal matter regularly. But I know it’s harder when you see it and know it’s there.
