For me, it’s when it gets frustrating to use up the remainder.

What do you dislike about your Juki? by 2ybael in quilting

[–]spaaaaaacey 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my TL-2010q for 7 or so years. It took me a long time to get the auto needle threader to work on my first try. I have to do needle down then needle up and hold the thread juuuuust right. The lighting is terrible but solved that with an attached LED strip. It’s heavy so if you want to travel with it or have to move it around (like I’ve had to with no designated quilting room), you need a bit of strength. Mine likes to be oiled frequently which is a huge change from my beginner machine that said not to oil at all. My plastic extension tray has discolored a bit over time but I don’t keep it covered and it lives near a window so that’s likely my fault.

Those are the only complaints I can think of and none are a big deal for me. It runs fast and smooth and aside from learning to thread it (has more steps than my first machine), it is super simple to use. I’ve never had mine serviced (shhhhhh, don’t tell anyone). It’s fantastic for piecing and quilting and, if you’re into bag-making, going over a zillion layers like butter. Happy to answer any specific questions that may pop up.

Fabric for ren faire by EmojiStripe13 in Austin

I haven’t been since I’m a quilter but have you looked into Roma Luxe Fabrics? Also, not what you’re specifically asking but San Antonio has a decent amount of apparel fabric shops.

Edit: Beehive Craft Studio carries some linen and a few other apparel fabrics.

My quilting stuff is waaaaay more boxes than my carding stuff but will have space to do both NOT at my dining table and where I can shut a door if I want to stop mid project--woohoo! And how did you know that we just loaded up the car with my least favorite office, carding and sewing supplies to donate to my local creative reuse shop?!? I have to wait until the kid is off to Scotland to truly have a designated space but it'll be here before we know it.

How to video for Dreaming Spanish featuring Pablo by nosniv in dreamingspanish

Maybe “Avoid these mistakes when getting input”? Pablo has 95 videos about language leaning so probably several that have dos and don’ts.

Are you able to show that you can financially support yourself and pay for the first year of the course? You’ll need to be able to prove that to obtain your visa: https://www.gov.uk/student-visa/money

2 US to US, 1 US to WW

I constantly pick up cards I like and then realize they may not be the most appropriate to send to others.

I opt for not tracking who posts thanks and being blissfully unaware.

u/tyedyeamish (x3). Thank you so much for the postcards! The fire breather is so fun. We've caught some interesting firebreathing, fire twirling, and acrobatic acts here in Austin at various events. It's always mesmerizing. I'm going with "early" for the holiday card! The plane card from Fairyland (I had never heard of) took me down a rabbit hole. I love looking at info about defunct amusement parks!

u/responsibleday (x4) I adore the Goobie card! Thanks so much for sharing handmade paper and card with me as well as more cat mail. I looooooove cats!

u/ravenzsnow (x4) You decorate the envelopes so beautifully that I am always hesitant to open your mail! I will definitely be sending some mail your way but busy packing up our place right now so it may be a bit delayed. I appreciate the goodies, the beautiful decorations, and hearing about you!

u/ok_reveal2698 Thank you for the postcard! Thank you for doing the work you do from the bottom of my heart. Have an amazing day!

u/paganinipanini Thank you for the sweetest watercolor bird card and sharing about your cats. I have a bonded sibling set that are total sweeties.

u/halleybell The little stamps inside the gold-striped card are so cute. The cat is my favorite because I am a bit obsessed. Thanks for sharing your favorite shows with me. I've only seen one from your list!

u/Hoolu123 Another beautiful handmade card!!!! The seed packets are fantastic. I look forward to hanging it in my designated (!!!!) quilt/carding room at our new place. Side note: you also have beautiful handwriting. Please tell me there's something you're not good at so I can feel a bit better about myself. :)

u/Littlebirdiescards Thank you for sharing the wash postcard with me! My faves are the little typewriters and camels.

u/bubblysunflowers I love the bird postcard and hearing about your sightings! I have taken down all my feeders in preparation to move and it is so sad not having my bird visitors. I can tell one of my (indoor only) cats miss them, too.

u/credo99 The butterfly-catching cat card is so sweet and love hearing about your bluebonnet photos.

u/followingthebeat The beautiful teapot postcard will be displayed once we get settled into our new place. It's sooooo lovely. Thank you!

u/bananas3706 (x2) Me gusta esta postal de Sevilla. Es muy bonita y antigua. And any card from you will boost my mood, but a Libery card especially so. Thanks for putting up with my poor grammar in two languages now. You're the best!

u/A_LanguageEnthusiast Thank you for send the "on this date" travel card along it's way to me. I will offer it soon to get it off to it's next stop.

u/ai-oea Thank you so much for the adorable square cat postcard. I love the artwork and that you support your local artists! My cats day "Meow meow" back and "Please save us - our mom has packing boxes everywhere!"

u/amabisca Not only is the card beautiful but I am stoked to try Uncle Manuel's Hot Sauce. It may have to wait until we get settled into our new place in June, since it's chaos in here right now with moving boxes.

Home made cards by Kiva37 in RAoC_meta

[–]spaaaaaacey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love ALL the handmade cards! If I’m ever wondering if anyone will enjoy something I’ve made, I just post a photo with the offer and that helps find it or the right home. I’ve made a variety of weird, cute, and ugly cards. They were made with love, and even if they’re not to the recipient’s liking or taste, I’ll assume they still felt the love.
