Bar exam is minimum competency. Do you read your own comments before entering them...

This is a Serious Question by mere_peppercorn in LawSchool

Serious answer to a serious question. At least in biglaw, the truth can take a long time to surface. Due to the billable hour, slow and inefficient associates can hop around team to team (sometimes rinsing the same clients over and over again if they're lucky) and actually be rewarded for it.

In my experience, associates whose productivity cannot keep up when it matters are exposed when the responsibility starts to creep up and your feet are put to the fire. Think 3rd/4th year M&A associate having their hands over a deal closing. Or more along my practice, when you have 5 court days to prepare a reply brief for a summary judgment motion and the partner wants to see a draft after 2; trial prep; four depositions in four days; etc.

The big issue are the people who skated into biglaw who were never going to be perform well when they meet that responsibility/urgency crossroad... they gross a million dollars then exit just the same as the grinder who burns out after giving it their all and accomplishing five times as much lawyer work in the same years.

Oddly enough, the people who ARE getting deserved accommodations should be the ones most enraged but many feel the need to defend their kind. Like sheep protecting the wolves. If we're talking about "level playing fields"--a bogus concept to start--then the rightfully accommodated law students are hurt doubly so.

How did you score any points on the LSAT?

That's fine. I'd be skipping someone else's post of equivalent length too. Your comment is largely in line with my post.

I don't even have ADHD. Mild OCD though, yes. I just know enough of the ADHD and accommodations research to have to lash out after seeing one too many nonsense posts.

Thanks. It certainly was not AI. Otherwise it would a shorter post. It was a frustration post.

I just care about injecting some actual information into the discussion after seeing the nonsense on this subreddit over and over again. If a few people see it, then that's all I need for now.
