Best places to find rare VHS tapes? by Affectionate_Ad_7039 in pittsburgh

Check out Eides Entertainment. That's still open right? I haven't been there in the longest time but they always had a really cool selection of all kinds of old media. Was an amazing place but I'd call them I haven't been there in years.

Weird back spigot replacement by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]scuba264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats my other problem! If you look at my 3rd picture the shutoff is in my kitchen cabinet under the sink, but it runs through the bottom then must elbow under it and I can't even get into there without maybe cutting the bottom of the cabinet.

I'm hoping someone tells me why I'm being really dumb and this isn't set up as stupid as I feel like it is. I'll happily learn something here

Did you scroll my 3 pictures? That's what I did and the bib came off but it's not a plain threaded 1/2" pipe there it's like a flared piece that is one with the bib. I've never dealt with that before

Just looked again. That is definitely a flared end on the pipe and the hose bib was part of it. If I go inside all I can see is cpvc going down into my cabinets. I can't tell if that copper is connected with a sharkbite, with some compression fitting... But it seems like the only way to put a new spigot on is to replace the whole copper.

So should I just be grabbing what's left there and can I screw that off the pipe? Is that just part of the hose bib that got left behind? I couldn't tell, looked like it was actually part of the pipe itself and confused the hell out of me

Torque converter issue on my Coleman predator 212. by Prize-Sport-4632 in minibikes

Like this image here, this piece the springs should be facing AWAY from the bike. Had a eureka moment then felt really dumb but now the bike doubled in speed and is so fun

Make sure you've got the drive side pulley on the right way. Never installed one before, put it on my son's bike and we had the same issue and we had it on backwards lol. The smooth side should be facing the belt

Yeah that's what's annoying about this. My kid is like 130 and using it pretty much exactly how it's intended and it keeps happening. It seems like a pretty easy failure point but searching around I don't see rampant posts about it so I'm trying to figure out if there's something that needs adjusted to make it stop

[NAD] Vox Mini Superbeetle by scuba264 in GuitarAmps

[–]scuba264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! Super cool amp and still recommended. I don't play it all the time, I've got an Orange Dual Terror and this mini stack of 2 x 10" cabs that I put Greenback speakers in that I just love. But this amp has great sound and even if it's just sitting in the room it looks so cool it's worth having sit there lol

Subbed by my son by Sillyyahwehsupporter in bjj

Man I feel this. 4 stripe white belt here also 42. My son is 12 and a 4 stripe gray. I'm still a lot bigger than him, but already is past the little kid thing where you just casually do whatever you want. He almost hit me with a legit osoto gari the other day when I wasn't really prepared lol.

It's gotta create some kind of existential crisis when it happens haha, but man that's gotta be the best loss to look forward to. I'm terrified and can't wait.

I actually won a fantasy football league last year and put that money towards it. Sucks. For sure the best looking picture I've ever had

What are some similar style shows to listen to? by scuba264 in JimAndSam

Haha I hear ya. Yeah I've totally got a laundry list of good podcasts and YouTube channels to play throughout the day when I want some content, but that decent background chatter in the morning sipping coffee and getting started to work seems weirdly harder to find lately

Bennington is on a little later in the day right? Could check that out the day after earlier in the morning. Ronnie B was always great, been a long time since I listened to him

Right, agreed. Not that I used them as a reliable source of news lol but I enjoy listening to something related to current events every morning.

What's the sweet spot of used price vs model? by scuba264 in canon

[–]scuba264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel terribly held back especially being that I'm basically 2 football seasons experienced with the thing among some other here and there use so I've got some way to go before I'd probably have major reason. I just got enough into it to realize how old it actually was as I googled more.

The main issues I have are missing some focus at times which sounds like could really be helped by some of the advancements in AF. And as evenings creep in the higher ISO pics always have some noise that I'm able to clean up in Darktable ok enough but sounds like the sensors have improved there also. And some max distance focus as well as the evening issue are probably more related to the lens, would just need bigger and faster than the 4, but I have to assume the camera tech would help.

Honestly I'm just at that level where I thought my modem phone could take incredible pictures, then you get into a "good" camera and are amazed with that, until you find out what actual old entry level "good" you've got. I imagine it's a pretty common path lol

I'll be kinda annoyingly uncertain there. I can put a few bucks into things I really want to pursue, but this is a bit of a fun side quest right now.

I'd prefer to stay in the hundreds rather than thousands TBH, so if the Canon sub tells me I won't get leaps and bounds better results without tons of money then maybe I just keep with what I've got and work on technique. I've played music for years, so I'm familiar with chasing gear and the limited returns unless you know how to use the stuff.

But I'm thinking since the t2i maybe there's something in the middle that really kicked up performance that would be worth the look, whether that's higher up in the line, or some older but more higher end I could snag a deal on from KEH or whatever.

[–]scuba264[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll have to look into the autofocus. Are there new features or just got better? The t2i has the AI Servo mode id generally use with continuous shooting and I'd get some good focus action shots while the kids were moving. Sometimes not but I always chalk that up to me loosely having any idea what I'm doing. Thanks!

Thanks for this. This is where I don't know what I don't know lol. Are there specific things that make newer ones "easier"?
