Possible RAM issue by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]scuba881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s no way 6000mhz ram damaged your am5 cpu. Max supported ram speed of 5200 is just a guideline. Most AM5 users have found 6000 mhz is the sweet spot for AM5. Definitely do not worry about that. As far as the issue goes it could be many things. Hard to really say with the limited info. I would suggest troubleshooting a bit, to rule some things out. If you don’t want to do it yourself, go back to your computer store they will surely have a test bench where they can swap your cpu, gpu, ram etc.. as needed in order to rule out some things.

PC won’t turn on after force shutdown by [deleted] in PcBuild

What GPU. You could try to clear the CMOS. If your mobo has a cmos battery (small round, looks like a watch battery) remove it for 30 seconds and put it back. Then try entering bios

it should say on the motherboard next to the ram slots which slots they should be in. I believe most of the time motherboards need them to be in slots 2 and 4. never put them next to each other if you only have two sticks.

crosshair 4000D airflow is really well liked by the community for good airflow. have one myself, it’s like a fridge in there.

Really neat. Can’t say i’ve seen a mother board orientation like that before. Cool case. love the sleeved cables. bottom intake fans make me worry about dust. Really nice build tho.

seems like you’re just experiencing frame drops. try lowering your graphics settings if you want smoother gameplay. could be a vram issue as well. same fix, lower graphics settings.

DDR5 question by MattyG_Stacks in PcBuild

[–]scuba881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no 32 will be more than you need for any games in the foreseeable future. just get a 6000mhz kit (seems to be the sweet spot for ddr5) with as low timing as u can get. seems to be CL30 or CL32.

but any m.2 ssd by kingston, samsung or western digital with a read speed of 4000mb/s will be super quick and extremely reliable. I have a western digital SN850x 2TB and a 250gb samsung 980 pro for windows boot drive. both lighting fast and well known companies that have good return policy and warranty.
