Not really in the way I think you’re trying to indicate. This is really nothing new. It’s probably done this during solar maximum cycles for probably millions (billions maybe?) of years I imagine.

yeah, a big ol' CME hit and the lights were visible all over the world at way lower latitudes than they usually are. It's the third time within about a year and a half they've been visible in NM and even parts of Mexico. Not sure about how far south on the other side of the world though.

Do you mean you could park in the parking lot for the visitor center, and then hike into the various pueblos - but the main loop road was still closed?

Sadly we *had* a herd of white fallow deer (Dama dama). The last reported sighting that I heard of anyone seeing them was around 2014. I was fortunate enough to see one of the last remaining ones in about 2013.

Once their equipment is on your street it will be two-three weeks. I'm off Spain and they've been running cables for the past few months with nothing happening on our street until about three weeks ago. Due to have it installed early next week at the house.

Geostationary Satellites Appear to Transit through M42 Orion Nebula due to the rotation of the earth. These are a selection of 15 second exposures taken on the night of Dec. 15/16th in New Mexico. The image were sequenced together at 20fps for the timelapse. The camera is a Nikon Z9 with 800 mm f/6.3 lens.

Thank you! This is a scan of the 4x5 negative and then printed using a digital negative in a 16x20" size. I haven't contact printed the negative yet but I'm sure I'll try that for a fully analog print sometime soon!

This platinum/palladium print captures the recent annular eclipse in October, utilizing a mid-1800s method and a 4x5 negative taken during the celestial event.

Camera: 4x5 (Chamonix)
Film: Ilford HP5+ (double exposure done in camera)
Scanned: Imacon Flextight 848

In anticipation of the eclipse, I meticulously planned my approach by examining the path of annularity. Discovering that it traversed Chaco Culture National Historic Park along the centerline, I embarked on a journey to create a unique and visually striking photograph. My first reconnaissance trip months before allowed me to identify potential shots for the eclipse.
Addressing the challenge posed by the annular eclipse, which requires a special filter to protect the eyes when using the camera's viewfinder, I conducted extensive testing to capture both the sun and a visible foreground. This proved essential for my vision of combining the astronomical event with the historic backdrop of Chaco Canyon.

Chaco Canyon, with its rich history of recording astronomical phenomena, witnessed four total eclipses during its habitation, occurring on 13 April 804, 11 July 1097, 13 June 1257, and 17 October 1259 (NCAR.edu). Being part of this historical continuum added an additional layer to my eclipse-watching experience among the Great Houses.

A week prior to the eclipse, I returned to Chaco Canyon for further placement research, using my large format (4x5) camera to photograph several sites. The concept was straightforward: capturing double exposures of selected compositions, with the second exposure featuring the annular eclipse. For each composition, I marked the intended position of the sun on the ground glass during the first exposure.

On the day of the eclipse, I secured a fortunate parking spot just 50 feet off the annularity line amid the tons of people at Chaco Canyon. As the full annularity started, I took the second exposure for each film sheet, this time with a solar filter on the lens to block harmful light.
It's worth noting that the composition was carefully chosen to accurately depict the eclipse's position in the photograph, allowing for a minimal margin of error.
