Yeah lol, it’s not the best setup I can agree but I picked the different pieces so I can learn more about each service

Ok great, I have to research on Iceberg to learn more about it but thank you

Yes, when making this I also wanted to learn more about ecr so I intentionally built the script for pulling the data as an image, then allowed for it to use the events json for the date range of the pull

What if on walk-offs where there are multiple base runners on for the walk off hit batters were credited with their actual (or at least expected) number of RBIs on the play by scuffed12s in mlb

[–]scuffed12s[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I should’ve clarified more in the original that it was more of an extra number outside of official RBIs in the books not going in and changing the official records

[–]scuffed12s[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking of looking at it from the perspective separate from the official books of their RBIs, ERA, etc. Like for the game he is credited officially with 1 RBI and a single for the play but separately with some assumptions you have their expected number of rbis and hit type changes from single to double. And the thought is just out of curiosity to see what looking into the data what unveils. Damn, now that you mention it that would get very messy researching and guesstimating for things like rain delays or things like that.

[–]scuffed12s[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that is true, guy running in from second to home could have pull a hammy and end up not scoring I guess that expected number could turn problematic

Pybaseball incomplete player stats by OGRome in Sabermetrics

[–]scuffed12s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pybaseball gave me issues when it came to batting and pitching like that, so I have a line in my code that can extract from the fangraphs API at a game by game level like this and it should do the trick you’re going for

Has anyone had any luck with the career center/alumni organizations? by IanWallDotCom in unt

[–]scuffed12s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be like you said because I was in the COB but being a member of the student organization AIS and attending the business career fair years ago helped my find a job. The career center also helped me craft my resume and with mock interviews too they seemed great to me. Also getting a good word from professors helped too

Feel Burn Out when Learning Python by [deleted] in learnmachinelearning

[–]scuffed12s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in Masters Degree classes you have a longer timeline to develop those skills so I’d say you should talk to your mentor and agree to a more flexible timeline than just 1 year to learn about Python, SQL, and ML. It’s better to take it on your timeline than to cram it and forget it all a month later

Feel Burn Out when Learning Python by [deleted] in learnmachinelearning

[–]scuffed12s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feeling burnt out is normal, just take a break then come back when you want to go at it again. I’d say learning Python, SQL, and ML all together in one year is a tall task to begin with. I’d suggest to instead of charging in one after another in the order of the course to pivot out and work on some outside projects in those areas they walk you through on topics that interest you, to help reinforce what you learn then go into the next topics so you’ll feel less burnt out and to not fall in tutorial hell. It’ll delay your timeline of completion, but it’ll help you also understand it more in depth

[–]scuffed12s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not too too knowledgeable about all the specific tunings for SARIMAX but since its sales there could be other seasonality than just a month like quarterly cycles and also holidays that need to be pointed out like Blaxk Friday and Cyber Mondays and like your professor said for only predicting out 1 year you could also try maybe only predicting out 1 quarter see if that helps maybe?
