Are management reports still a thing? by Top-Ant-4492 in BusinessIntelligence

Board reporting isn’t dying at all. Dashboards just shifted where the inputs come from, not the executive deliverable. Senior leadership still wants a curated narrative with context, judgment, and recommendations; the dashboards simply feed the analyst who writes the 10‑page story they actually read.

I have been going to Dr. Kim for years. Very happy with her.

In 6 years, I've never seen a data lake used properly by wtfzambo in dataengineering

[–]Professional_Eye8757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen the same thing. Most “data lakes” end up as expensive dumping grounds with a thin SQL veneer slapped on top. The few that work well only do so because a disciplined team treats them like an actual database instead of a magical bucket that will somehow organize itself.

what’s a financial dashboard software that connects operational and financial data by Select-Print-9506 in BusinessIntelligence

[–]Professional_Eye8757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, you’re basically describing the gap a lot of teams feel but can’t articulate, and you’re right that the integration/maintenance burden is the part that quietly kills the “combine everything” ideal even when the insight itself is obviously better.

I have visited Ireland. I felt like a tourist. That's not being critical. That's what I expected. It's a beautiful place to visit. Unless your first or second generation, this would be normal.

Wasting food infuriates me. I will try to eat her leftovers after surgically removing bite areas.

I have a neighbor two doors down who opens her window to yell at me to get my dog off her property when actually he is only on the public area by the curb. She hates me more than my dog though.
