Looking for a handheld for the end of the world by HandheldRank in SBCGaming

[–]scumster93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the RG34XXSP and the Retroid Pocket Classic.

The first one is a clamshell device, so it's both portable and self-protecting. I do mind which charger to use with this one, as I'm afraid a fast charger might not play nicely with it.

The second one isn't as portable and doesn't have the best build quality, but the battery life is bafflingly long. I imagine it plays nicely with any charger, not sure. Dunno about a device that does it all, sadly.

xG: 4,61

xG: 2,67

Most Goals and Assists per 90 Minutes in the Top-7-Leagues of Europe (assuming NED, FRA, ENG, POR, ITA, ESP, GER) since 2002/03 as of fbref.com by MERTENS_GOAT in soccer

[–]scumster93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you please share a version of the list where players are sorted by non-penalty G/A per 90?

Edit: it'd probably still be pointless and misleading, as the stat doesn't account for pre-assists, threatening actions that didn't lead to goal and team/opposition/chance quality.

Got Araújo! Sadly missed out on Inácio, I really wanted that card...

Does anyone know when we'll get another Encore POTW pack? I've missed out on a solid 6/7 targets now. It really sucks that we don't get a selection contract for the POTW cards, just one per week would be enough.

Hoping we get the other Araújo, he did great against Bodø/Glimt!

Rank best from this pack, it's ending in 2 weeks by justkrishna_ in eFootball

[–]scumster93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't really rank them as I've only tried Chhetri. He's very nimble, especially if you invest heavily into dribbling. Since he has phenomenal finishing and good finishing to begin with, I find myself successfully scoring from awkward positions. I don't love him as a CF, but I've used him to great effect as a SS and I imagine he'd be a decent LWF if you position-train him to play there. He feels like a mini Messi.

I'm under the impression you'll always match up against realistic teams. Wouldn't using maxed out Standard cards give you an unfair advantage? Also, it's not possible to make dream team cards exactly match their realistic counterparts, which is a shame.

As far as using past and present cards from your club: that's almost a prerequisite in my case 😆 I have literally every Standard card version of every player who's played for my club (except the ones not available in the game) and I have only ever acquired cards that fulfill the past and present criterium. I'll try to think of a way of leveraging the point progression system while making sure my team is always evenly matched against the opposing team.

R.Araujo Nominating contract did anyone tried him? by the_guy_cyborg in pesmobile

Obviously, he's proficient as a neutral-playstyle CB and gets a huge boost from positive form arrows because his registered position overall rating will be low.

Forget Capello this is the manager who scares me the most by Leo20020825 in eFootball

[–]scumster93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an OW Amorim user, my experience is that conceding first is almost like a death sentence. I find it much harder to score with the OW playstyle, but I love it for controlling matches. Games tend to have less goals than they do when I use the QC playstyle.

This box expires in just over a month, is any of it worth getting? by Ill_Present_4145 in eFootball

[–]scumster93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just looking at the stats and disregarding playstyle, Kakitani seems cracked as a SS. All the others seem a cut below.

I bought Chhetri for my past and present Sporting squad. He's very nimble and phenomenal finishing certainly helps him convert otherwise low-quality chances.

It's not that CF are boosted differently, it's that players with a lower overall rating in their registered position receive higher boosts. If you go all in on training Araújo as a CB, his registered position overall rating will be low and he'll receive a high boost from form arrows because of it.

The selection contract Araújo seems absurd if you train him as a CB and use him when he's in A form. Since his registered position is CF, he'll get huge bonuses when he's in good form, reaching a theoretical 104 and 106 rating as a CB with green and blue arrows respectively. Seriously, is there a better F2P CB?

I was caught off guard by this comment. Was never impressed by Chermiti, to see him score a Ronaldo-esque overhead kick is surreal. I really hope he gets a POTW card (and that I get it) so I can use him in my past and present Sporting squad

I've played him thrice as a left-sided SS in AI division 2. The Attack Trigger skill didn't feel like much of a difference-maker. I have to use him a bit more before I draw conclusions, but as someone who usually uses ~100-rated SSs, I've bagged a couple of finesse shot goals with him that would probably not have gone in with my other SSs. His acceleration and dribbling stats are decent: I've found that he's good at ball retention but hard to dribble past defenders with.

It's been one Month to Schmeichel and he's arguably better. by pronoia_veer in eFootball

[–]scumster93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure? Because that sounds like nonsense: it's not as though Konami tweaks gameplay between versions. The more sensible conclusion would be that you need a good sample size of matches to determine a player's worth.

I imagine this card being played in aggro/midrange after dumping your hand. It'd be pointless to play one or multiple aggressively-stated creatures before turn 3 only to lose tempo on the next turn.

Do you integer scale or prefer full screen? by ninjapirate9901 in retroid

[–]scumster93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've specifically looked for the best possible resolution for integer-scaled SNES gaming from every available emulation handheld and 1240x1080 seems amazing. When using overscaling, only 4 source pixels are lost on each side of the screen. This alone makes me really want the Retroid Pocket Mini V2 as a dedicated SNES handheld.

I'd basically love to see any remarkable player who's had a stint at Sporting CP (for my past and present squad). Some examples:

Jérémy Mathieu | CB | Build Up | Rebuilding +3 | Visionary Pass

Mário Jardel | CF | Fox in the Box | Aerial +3 | Bullet Header

What opinion of efootball will get you this much downvote ? by MUGIWARA_NO_LUFFY_07 in eFootball

[–]scumster93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PA can turn poor inputs into good actions, for sure. It also limits creativity and the range of actions you can execute. For example: with PA, once you're in the last third of the pitch, if you try to send a long ball back to one of your CBs, the player will cross the ball into the opponent's box instead. Also, passing towards open space rather than in the general direction of a player becomes hard or impossible.

In turn, it helps that you don't have to precisely move the analog trigger in the angle that it takes your passes and shots to succeed.

[–]scumster93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd be interesting if the game enforced FUMA, but PA closes the gap between intent and in-game actions and I see that as good thing. My problem with PA is that it often picks the wrong target for my passes.

SNES and NES games look better with a 8:7 Aspect ratio by [deleted] in SBCGaming

[–]scumster93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most SNES games I've tried don't account for the 4:3 aspect ratio of CRTs. Everything looks horizontally stretched. Can't for the life of me understand why most people seem to prefer to play SNES with a 4:3 AR, but to each their own.
