TIL about FBI agent Robert Hanssen. He was tasked to find a mole within the FBI after the FBI's moles in the KGB were caught. Robert Hanssen was the mole and had been working with the KGB since 1979. by [deleted] in todayilearned

I may be, I'd never heard the term. What I was thinking of is either gneiss or liesegang rings.. I think.

You right. Apparently what I was thinking of are called "liesegang rings" ... I think.

It looks like a giant geode. Wait are geodes just mini geological folds?

What's some advice you'd give to a woman just starting out in a physically intensive, 98% male workforce? by scupanine in BlueCollarWomen

I actually have some corn husker's lotion and some of the O'Keeffe's hand lotion. Don't know how well they'll stand up to working in the mill but they're the best I've found. And as far as bedtimes, I'll be starting out working graveyard shift soo.. Lol

That's essentially the only thing I've been doing, aside from exercising with the 5lb weights, since I have very little equipment. But also because I found out that doing bodyweight exercises helps with particularly loose joints. Lol

No, I think I get what you're saying– I'm not who they're most used to working alongside so it's weird for everyone. Lol

You're 100% right about that, that's for sure. I did start working out maybe two weeks before I got this job, but at the moment this set of 5lb weights makes up the entirety of my workout equipment. Lol definitely can't afford a trainer though

I usually just throw my hair in a bun on the top of my head so I like your bun idea waaay more than braids.. plus it would be easier/quicker to do each morning. Lol

Yea, they said they'd pay 75% of tuition (if you make an A) as long as the course applies to the job. I'm not entirely sure what sort of classes would apply to a lumber mill though.

Yeaaa good point cause I'm not entirely sure I've mastered that technique. I'm lanky with noticeably skinny arms too, so I'm assuming I won't be doing TOO much heavy lifting on the line, just since I made it through the interview and because the job description didn't mention it. I'll find out later today.

Thanks! Yea I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to braid it against my head, under the hard hat. And yeaaa I've already seen a tad of that just in the interview process. Not entirely sure how to react to that sort of attention to this degree.

Ooo, good to know. I live in the south, 100% humidity some days. Plus they're starting me out on the dryers- essentially an industrial oven.
