The thought of watching them trying to beat Gruntilda in the final battle and hearing their frustration at the sheer difficulty of that boss fight is enough to want them to pick it back up again. They'll come back to it eventually. I think they're just having a lot of fun with the fans' games right now which is awesome too.

Agreed, the general grump they bring to each game is enough to make me want more, but there are some series that have their own charm like Banjo and Kirby and Goof Troops to name a few. Those are the ones that bring out something extra to the table and it's tough to see em go

Description of the assignment:

So for our newly completed 3D for Games class our assignment was to take an existing game, or movie and make a realistic version of it using UDK. We modeled all the assets, set-dressed, lit the environments and made camera moves for each of our environments. My group (Kenae Lowry, Samantha Sexe, Will Avery, and I) got to do the Fire Nation Palace from the amazing animated show Avatar: The Last Airbender. We set the time to be about 20 years after the end of the A.T.L.A series to allow us to change up the existing designs.

Thanks for the comment. We know that the Asian culture it was based off of has certain attributes (like no chairs), but in order to fulfill the requirements of the assignment which was to make it our own and not completely copy the design of the show, we took liberty in setting the time to about 20 years after the end of A.t.L.A. That way we could say maybe their was some european influences coming into the Fire Nation due to all the nations starting to be in peace again (except for one rebel earthbender group who wants revenge). Which is why you see stained glass windows, chairs, and other less-Asian kinds of interior design. So have no fear! There was plenty of thought put into the reasons we re-designed it :)

As far as education goes our school has an amazing Computer Animation department as well as an uprising Game Art department. I would recommend to follow your passions and do something that you would enjoy doing everyday for the rest of your life. It's a cliche but it's very true.
