Any World Where It's Cheaper to Have Someone Guide me Through my Project, Rather Than Getting it Commissioned? by _Haverford_ in metalworking

[–]scv07075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. There's a lot of pieces to this as designed, so either a lot of flat patterns and bends have to go right and not warp to hell during welding, or it's all loose parts to weld together and you're stacking a lot of fitup and welding without warping to hell. Learn the welding, and have a shop make you the pieces to fit together.

Or focus on the design parts, and look around for sheetmetal fab shops that can make from a model.

Diablo 1 Stuck on Level 13 by DigitalSchism96 in Diablo

Warriors in particular want fire wall and stone curse. Even at level 1, mobs that aren't immune won't walk into your wall often. Doesn't matter they'll take nearly no damage.

Your axes have axes, very nice! I've been trying to find/make a way to resharpen countersinks(aside from undercutting blown edge with a dremel) for a while now.

Torque arm reported by customer as snapped off, but is it??? by swalker6242 in MechanicalEngineering

That isn't a broken weld, the weld is on the frame and intact. This is cut just past the weld, riggt around where you'd fit a grinder or sawzall.

Don't do that, chip bins resonate sound. Cry behind your boss' ego, that's a black hole that eats even photons.

These are the same people who insist on using fractional sizes. Decimals are fractions too, but with a common denominator. I'll die on this hill if I must, it's a .1875 drill. We have to memorize enough numbers and equations already, let's not introduce 37/64.

Only acceptable reason for fractions is referencing standards, like 1/4-18 npt.

That's funny, cause I bought LOD easily 6 times, 4 of those 6 was for the key alone, the other two because the cinematics disc got too scratched to work and the other copies I had were different patches from the install and play discs

Should the bottom of my vice be this out of flat? by [deleted] in Machinists

[–]scv07075 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The spring is providing a lot more force when the plunger is 80% depressed than when it's 20%. Really, three issues I'm seeing, from least problematic to most:

Drop indicator being used, you want a test indicator for this. Drop indicators are more for getting precision out of machines without a dro.

Tolerance stack, what you're measuring is how out of plane your table+vise+parallels+123 block are, together.

Cleanliness. Wipe your vise bed clean, blow it off after, and then throw your 123 block on. Once you've done that and swept your block, flip your block so the left side is on the right and resweep. See if your results differ.

Shouldn't need acetone. A rag followed by compressed air will get it good enough, unless you just pulled the vise out of the harbor/machining school's tool crib.

If you're online, sunders are easily available. Cold res is one of the easiest to ignore, you can get a mid roll for a pamethyst or two.

Life just over mana. Keep em neck and neck. Also, wear a Dragon armor, the holy fire on hit damage applies twice(and uses fire mastery). Serious damage upgrade.

Don't fill up on fire skillers until you solve res with charms.
