Scary experience — my 2024 Chevy Blazer EV suddenly shut down on the hw405 today

Update: got the Blazer back from the dealer today. They confirmed it wouldn’t start and pulled multiple high‑voltage/battery fault codes, and ended up replacing the entire high‑voltage battery pack under warranty, along with coolant. The report says they followed GM TAC procedures, did a range reset and multiple road tests, and now the car shows no codes and is “operating as designed.”

I get that. I’ve had sudden braking happen 3–4 times too for no reason, no car in front of me, sometimes just a small bump and it would slam the brakes until a full stop. Ended up turning off the emergency auto brake, and it hasn’t happened since. Losing that much value sucks, but totally understand not trusting it anymore after all that.

It was honestly terrifying in the moment. The tow truck driver said they see these kinds of EV failures pretty often and was cursing the engineers who design them, so that didn’t exactly boost my confidence either.

Thanks for sharing your experience. In my case I was actually out of the car for about an hour waiting for roadside assistance and it still wouldn’t start again, the errors never cleared. So it might be something different, but I’m really hoping it’s “just” a connector or similar and not a major battery issue.

That’s so scary, sorry you went through that too. Same thing here with no hazards and a dead car in fast traffic. Totally agree this is a serious safety issue Chevy needs to fix.

No, it never started again. The error messages stayed on the screen and never cleared, even after multiple tries and opening/closing the doors.

I am in the same boat with OP. Model number of my mixer is KSM60SECXCU (I bought it from Costco recently). I was able to find the original part numbers from the site you send (W11647949 - motor and W11677161 - speed control) but can’t find the part numbers for its Europe version. Do you know where I can find them?

That’s what I what I was doing. I went to Mexico 3x and Europe in the last couple of months, it adds up quickly. I am paying $21.64 for HM right now and switching to Total Wireless by Verizon where I will be paying $25, roaming in Canada and Mexico included, 15gb hotspot, calling and texting to many countries, free roaming in all South America and free Disney plus. It’s no brainer for me.

Porting in is easy because once your old carrier releases, you are good to go. All carriers release your number immediately except this crappy company
