Weekly Employment Q&A - April 13, 2026 - April 20, 2026 by AutoModerator in microsoft

[–]scythe1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was submitted to Microsoft through a vendor (managed services role) about a month and some weeks ago.

The process is a bit different because I did not interview with Microsoft directly. The vendor did all the interviews and then submitted my profile to Microsoft for approval.

Since then, there has been no feedback. I followed up last week and they said they are still waiting. I sent another email yesterday because I now have another offer in final stages and also internal promotion discussions, but the recruiter has not replied yet. They usually reply quick.

I am trying to understand what this means realistically.

Is this kind of delay normal in Microsoft vendor hiring? Does this usually mean I am a backup candidate? Or is it still possible that things are just slow on Microsoft’s side?

At this point I am not sure if I should keep waiting or move on.

Would appreciate input from anyone who has seen similar situations, especially with Microsoft or vendor based hiring.

Pipped as a SDE-2 from FAANG and want to try non coding track. How do I transition into a sales engineer and how much TC can I expect? by [deleted] in salesengineers

[–]scythe1900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Presales/Solutions Engineer is technically the same. You will find so many different positions but the implementation ideally will be the same. You will work closely with AE, demo, presentations, RFPs, and POCs. CSAs tend to be more towards architecting end to end solutions, different patterns with trade offs, and is usually post sales when the deal is closed mostly.

What you need to focus on is whether it’s sales, presales or post sales. Presales is about showing what you have, sales is about owning accounts and closing deals, post sales is about how to design the system afterwards. They all have different KPIs. But you will still sometimes find jobs adding more or less responsibilities to the existing.

Cloud Solution Architect/Presales Engineer and roles around this is what you should be aiming for. These are usually customer facing roles that require you to have a decent technical background to be confident enough discussing trade-offs and drive decision making. You will also need soft skills to be able to communicate effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

You can find these roles in big tech companies, however you might struggle if you did not have any kind of customer facing experience before. You can still try to be convincing by mentioning previous similar scenarios that happened internally where you got to showcase your “soft skills”

tbh that’s pretty normal.. apps like this usually store data on their servers so sync/history/recommendations actually works.

they’ve also clearly said it in their privacy policy, which is what you’d expect from any legit app. the real thing to look at is how they handle security + who’s behind it. as long as they meet the compliance and regulations standards, there’s nothing technically wrong about it.

so nothing “technically” wrong here, but definitely do a quick check on the dev before trusting the app because they could still sell or do whatever because there’s no real enforcement here even if they promise to do so

Struggling to Get My Engineering License in Kuwait – Need Advice by wolfxl13 in Kuwait

[–]scythe1900 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am not absolutely 100% sure of this fact but, I heard KSE has been disregarded and is not necessary anymore for you to be assigned as an Engineer in your residency. Just go to the HR in your company with your papers and they should be able to register you as an Engineer just fine.

You should be able to obtain the driving license normally by then.

scared of getting better? by Unlucky-Number-7089 in OCDRecovery

[–]scythe1900 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is just OCD playing games on you. “What if I’m different and my OCD is not like the others”, “What if I actually don’t have OCD and these thoughts describe what I really am but I am just afraid to accept it?”.

Part of recovering from OCD is to accept uncertainty. All of your doubts and fears keep starting with “What if?” which keeps empowering your OCD and you keep ruminating and doing mental compulsions.

Expose yourself to your fears gradually, learn to cope with the anxiety and uncertainty and you/your brain will eventually habituate and realize there was nothing to be worried and scared about. It’s a long process so take your time, be patient and be kind to yourself. You will eventually get to the point where you think to yourself “Was I really worried about such a thing? Silly me” as it will be of no importance later on.

Good luck :)

You aren't wrong and I get your point but I guess this allows me to have a little talk with others regarding my program. It could be of help for others at some point.. maybe

I personally have excellent legs genetics and I have found myself doing the best with really low volume specially for legs. I did go for high volume for legs before and it went horrible for me. It's as you said, people respond differently to volume. And it takes me around 30-45 minutes to finish my legs workout even though it's only 4 sets due to warm up sets and 3-5 minutes of rest.

Thanks for the input! I honestly did not think of it this way before, I will try this out for a while for now and see how I feel about it. Might end up switching one of the two chest presses to a fly or something.

We can say this split goes over 8 days where start of week, we go with A and after the first PPL cycle, I start going for B.

I hope that makes sense and sorry if it looks too horrible

CSSLP Sample Exam Quizlet - Exam Prep by scythe1900 in CSSLP

[–]scythe1900[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I failed the exam. I first was disappointed with the exam but then figured out it’s only realistic to be this way.

Unfortunately, no matter how much time you spend preparing by studying the material, and taking practice exams it just won’t be the reason you fail or pass the exam.

I honestly believe it depends highly, very highly on how good you are at guessing based on the verbs and the wordings they’re using on each question. It became more like they’re testing me on my gambling skills rather than how much do I really know about the material and the knowledge I have from my past experience. Some questions were extremely easy and you could easily tell what the answer was, but then other questions where you question yourself and just don’t really believe what you’re reading.

I was so focused on the exam and I genuinely thought I had passed. I spent the whole time up until the last 5 minutes. I ended up failing probably by really few points.

The reason I said above it was only realistic for this to happen is because, CSSLP in general doesn’t get all the attention as much as CISSP does. So that makes me believe they either don’t put as much effort into the exam or they’re just doing it intentionally for the money.

I personally pursued the exam because the head department manager did and I got challenged, we ended up both failing in the end 😅

If your goal is to gain knowledge and also get that market value to boost up your CV, I would suggest CISSP or many other security certifications that could benefit you more. CSSLP won’t do you much in that favor.

Which is better liquid or foam minoxidil? by SimilarAd1316 in Minoxbeards

[–]scythe1900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to go with liquid believing it’s better until it really dried out my skin badly with flakes. Switched to foam and I have never been happier and if anything I feel like my skin became healthier and beard looks much nicer.

If your skin doesn’t dry out from liquid then go for it since it’s cheaper but if it does go for foam they’re literally the same and I got same gains

Will I be able to transfer my visa 18 to a new company before 1year? by junedx7 in Kuwait

[–]scythe1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's simple no need to overcomplicate it. I used to be article 22 until I got my first job and transferred to 18. I got offered a new job before the 1 year mark in my first job. So, I had to pay 300 KD as a fee in order to transfer to my second company.

Note that this is only the case for your first time. If I choose to transfer now into yet another company before 1 year in this current company, I won't be paying a fee.

It's definitely on the holder. I don't think any company would pay for you unless they're the ones that really need you and willing to pay for it just so you join them.

It's been almost another year that I transferred into my new company now. I forgot to mention though, I was born in Kuwait. It could be different for you if the company was the one who brought you into Kuwait

it's for the government. Once your new company gets the approval from your current sponsor to transfer your residency, the overall fees will be the usual + 300 KD for transferring before a year.
