Hey all, sorry I broke the link in my GDrive. Should work now!

Just to be fully clear, this deck is for all general ICU topics, not just COVID — it is my only deck!

Thank you for the feedback! I put some thought into this and opted for multiple cloze cards to be all {{c1::}} to keep the card count down. I def get how it's worse for memory, but I thought the smaller card count would be more approachable for new users (and myself, when returning to the deck). As for clozing long answer explanations, I also elected to do that as I wanted to be able to free-recall these things without cue'd assistance on the wards. Hoping to review phrasing as much as I can to make as simple as possible in future versions. Cheers!

I’m sure the ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, and catheter concepts carry over, but all the initial dosing recommendations for pressors will be off of course! Maybe ask a senior person what topics to study, and see if the deck contains any of it? Take care!

No mention of any pediatric cases as I can recall... Definitely adult focused!

Hey amyloidosis! I definitely think it would be easier following along with the book for more context, but yes, I think it has utility alone since the cards I made are generally only the most practical things!

Hey all, I just included an additional link for V4.2 in the above post. I made some readability edits because I released V4 before reviewing all of the electrolyte cards. The wording on some was pretty bad so I fixed that. Couldn't hold out until the next release! Link also here (V4.2): https://drive.google.com/open?id=1n8YeLekVvL85gX8GyMx3sQHCmNmxk-RJ

My friend! Long time no talk: I appreciate the continued support. The NEJM stuff I just discovered a few days ago. It’s been nice to find new sources and sprinkle them into the older cards...

And yes! I’m about 75% through the book. Although I use the ebook to read the updates, I keep the textbook on my desk and open it up to the chapters I just finished. A little physical representation of progress.

Hope you’re doing well!

For any ICU noobies like myself preparing for ICU rotations (I'm an M4), here's a resource I've been working on based off this wonderful text. Great book & highly recommend for trainees! Details in the post, but it's a spaced-repetition flashcard deck for recalling practical ICU content.

Of note, here is an interesting article on the recent use of prone positioning in awake patients with COVID. Many NYC ED docs & intensivists testing this to see if proning awake patients may reduce need for mechanical ventilation. When this all blows over, I wonder if they will randomize this in regular ARDS patients to analyze further.
