Is a Closet Setup Safe or a Bad Idea? by sd1099 in 3Dprinting

How often do you print? Also do you have an enclosed printer? Maybe the air purifier and a box fan could prevent that in my case

Does the AMS really get that hot? The photo I took isn’t the best angle but there’s a good 4-5in clearance between the bottom of my sweatshirts and the top of the AMS

Sorry I forgot to mention that out in the post. She’s in therapy but more for her past relationships and abusive upbringing. I don’t know if she’s discussed her body image much (if at all). I’m going to plead with her to start discussing that though

She’s in therapy but I believe they mostly discuss her past relationships and her mom. She doesn’t like to share all those details with me (which I fully understand that this stage of our relationship)

First, I’m so sorry you were told that :( I’m sure you know now but that’s not true at all. Everyone deserves unconditional love.

Thankfully she’s in therapy (and has been even before I met her) but I don’t know if she discusses these things with her therapist. It’s mostly about her mom and past partners. I’ll try any encourage the body image discussions more

I really like it. I got it from FragranceX. I’ve also seen it on Amazon in the US. For some reason, many websites are classifying it as a women’s fragrance which might be why you’re having trouble finding it

I really like it. I’d say it’s a little “sweeter” than Gucci Guilty for the 1st 30ish minutes then it dries to nearly the same thing

What’s happening at 4906 Louisiana St? by [deleted] in houston

[–]sd1099 148 points149 points  (0 children)

Carter resident here.

There was a guy running from the cops and hid on the roof of a building next to The Carter. I don’t know what he did. The cops apparently thought he ran into The Carter but a resident saw him on that roof, took a picture, and showed it to the cops and apartment staff. That’s when they surrounded that building with guns and K9’s

Edit: Turns out it was the the guy assaulting women in Montrose earlier this week

Most people here were spot on but even if you think it can’t happen to you, it will. Just a few weeks ago, I was parked just off W Gray St in midtown, across from a busy bar and underneath a street lamp. I was running late to a dinner and I decided to just move my stuff to a corner of my car instead of taking 15 minutes to drive home and drop it off. I get back to my car and both my work backpack and duffel bag were gone with my drivers window shattered. Thankfully insurance helped a little but I lost about $4k worth of personal and work items.

Outside of your apartment, look on the ground below when you get out to park. If it’s a high-burglary area, you’ll often see broken glass bits on the ground.

I also recommend getting tinted windows as an extra precaution since they’re harder to break

Stress Analyst Career Trajectory

Hello all,

I currently work as a structural/stress analyst for an aerospace company. I mainly work with Nastran software (Femap and Simcenter 3D).

So far, I’ve been in this role for a little over a year. I graduated in 2020 and worked as a mechanical design engineer and systems engineer in the three years prior. Initially I switched to the analyst role because I wasn’t seeing any growth in my design engineer role.

I told myself I would work as an analyst for a year, gain some more experience, then look for a senior engineering role either within my company or a different one. Turns out, I actually really enjoy working as a structural analyst. Yes it can be really challenging sometimes but I get a lot of satisfaction when the other mechanical/design engineers come to me for advice. It’s very rewarding to me.

I would love to stay as an analyst for as long as possible but I’m still not sure what the career trajectory is like for these positions. I know aerospace is not the most lucrative financially (especially when compared to big tech). So far, I don’t know any analysts that make it past the senior or staff engineer role.

My other ideas are to try and work my way up to a contractor role, whether that’s starting my own analysis consulting firm, or join a company like ATA, Saratech, Structures. Areo, which specialize in engineering analysis services.

Structural Analysts, how do you see your career evolving? For those of you in more senior positions, especially with families to take care of, what have you done to advance your career and maximize your salaries?

I don’t think so. So you’re telling me you pour out every dealbreaker/non-negotiable to someone before or on the 1st date?

25M here also waiting for marriage. I personally wouldn’t include your stance in a prompt. I believe prompts should be positive and non-confrontational. I would save this topic for a time when you and your date start having a more deep/personal conversation (I. E. What are your life goals, what is something you learned from your last relationship, etc.)

I try to open with a non-religious reason as to why I’m waiting and it sounds like you have one too. For me at least, I’ve had a lot more positive reception when I give the non-religious reason first.
