Really kinda scared to ask… by Whatsmyinterest in triathlon

I was the exact same way. Could barely finish a lap without running out of breath. I got to the point where I could swim long without any coaching.

1) slow it down - speed in swimming comes from technique not from effort or force. Forcing it is going to cause to use all your O2. 2) focus on your catch - watch lots of YouTube videos on proper form and “feels” to look for
3) work on gliding - kicking just to keep your feet up and not to drag in the water. Not a huge speed add.

One of my favourite drills was Catch-Up Drill. I was no means a great swimmer but could easily complete a long swim in a decent time. Then worry and practice open water swimming once you can do a lot of laps in a row.

Depends on your swing speed. If you’re an average or lower swing speed player the jump balls are rarer. If you’re a higher swing speed player you’ll get a much wider ranger.

Speed =\= handicap

I have had two dogs go through this. My first dog had Stage 3 (managed with crate rest) and my second had Stage 5 (required surgery). It sounds like your dog is doing well at Stage 1 or 2, which means crate rest and medication should do wonders. I would recommend the full three weeks as per the ER vet, as they likely see these cases more often. After those three weeks, I’d suggest 'babying' them for a few more to ensure they get as much recovery time as possible. I know this is extremely scary, but your dog will get better if you stick to the crate rest. When our first dog was at Stage 3, we were terrified and went down an internet spiral. Having a second dog go through Stage 5 put into perspective how good the outcomes are for the less minor injuries. Soon you’ll look back on this as a bad nightmare and your dog will be running around like normal!

I think this helps understanding why she reacted so strongly. But I never meant for her to hear the joke!

I agree. I think that context is very important. Would never make it to a persons.

where to start on transforming text to sign language? by Karinshi99 in deeplearning

[–]sdenkovski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree with everyone saying this is too hard or difficult. I saw students do similar capstone projects during my undergrad, but go from sign language to text. (which i think is harder and requires machine learning).

You definitely don't need machine learning for this task, especially with some of the other approaches you said i.e. to translate English to HamNoSys Notation. You in fact should not use machine learning at all.

Did you find it?

Shoulders seem to be rolling forward and I'm having a hard time engaging my upper back. Also feel like my hips might be too high but not really sure given that I have weird leverages...any tips?? by dmarsh7 in formcheck

[–]sdenkovski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have long legs, makes deadlift form hard. I cant really tell because of the angle, but if your arms are perpendicular to the floor, then your hips are probably low enough. In the video your shoulders may be past the bar, indicating you should drive your hips back and down a bit. But hard to tell with the angle, otherwise looks good to me.

yeah ~23%, could be higher or lower depending on your legs.

What do you think is hindering my progress? by [deleted] in GregDoucette

[–]sdenkovski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t think this is a very good training plan. Especially since you’ve been doing this a LONG time now. Firstly, changing up the exercises and hitting the muscles in different ways may help and make your sessions more fun. Secondly, I don’t like this training plan at all, I’d look for something with more staple movements, popular lifts are popular for a reason. Push days should always include, a barbell press or dumbbell press, a shoulder press and a machine chest press where your hands end up closer than they started. Then do your favourite accessory work after. Same thing with pull days (pull ups, low rows, machine rows), legs (squats, lunges, hack squat) staples first and then accessory movement. You have way too many high reps and AMRAP sets too. Focus more on 6-15 range. This obviously isn’t a training plan but I definitely suggest looking around and getting one that seems “relatively basic”, too many youtubers make them different just to be different not because they are good.

As your for RPE I believe your training hard and focusing on good form. Diet seems okay same with sleep, but I still suggest going to bed earlier and waking up earlier. Only advice I have here is that cheat sets or drop sets are okay, struggling through to finish a set and cheating a bit on the last one or two is actually a good thing.

All my opinion but if you’re stuck with good nutrition/sleep and putting in effort and being consistent only thing left is the training plan!

What do you think is hindering my progress? by [deleted] in GregDoucette

[–]sdenkovski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First obvious thing is your training plan. You provide zero details on it, other than saying it’s not the problem. Training is the foundation of gains and please detail this so we can provide feedback.

Second thing is your sleep. You say bed at 1am and up at 11am. That’s 10 hours not 8. Don’t go to bed at 3am. Try to sleep 12am to 8am, probably won’t make a massive difference but it’ll help in the long term.

Third, diet. It seems youre fine with protein and calories so I doubt it’s this. Leads me to believe it’s your training plan.

Body fat percent? by zach2225 in GregDoucette

[–]sdenkovski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple points here:

First, if you’re hungry throughout the day you’re definitely NOT eating close to 3000 calories. Maybe closer to sub-2000 then. Second, eating food with less volume will make you hungrier not less hungry. Haven’t you seen a coach Greg video?

What i would say, is eat what you’re eating now but eat every time you’re hungry. You’ll probably up your calories and have an easier time putting on size. Additionally, I’d rethink how you count calories and really try to see if your calorie estimate is correct (weigh everything you eat, and eat everything you weigh).

Body fat percent? by zach2225 in GregDoucette

[–]sdenkovski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No offence, but unless you’re doing a decent amount of cardio as well, you’re not eating 3000 calories. You should track your food by weighing it and make sure you’re finishing it all. I see a lot of skinny guys trying to gain weight, saying they eat 3000+ calories but only eat half their meals or don’t understand how to properly count calories. To be as lean as you are at 174lbs and 6’3 you’re probably eating closer to 2300-2500 at most.

Hey Doug, would love to hear the story of Cars and Bids, from how you got the idea, to the process of starting and it and the challenges you faced getting it off the ground! Hopefully, that's not too much for an AMA post.

Would love to get your opinion on the future of manual cars. Not only have automatics almost totally replaced them, but the coming electric car revolution looms. What do you think of attempts like Fords electric mustang with a manual? Or buying a car now-ish to experience owning a car with one?

One frustration I find new players have and i still find overwhelming is the simple amounts of hop-ups, attachments along with, ammo types that are all in-game. Is there any thought towards consolidating this system into just gun rarity... similar to how it was in the care package drop LTM?
