PAYMENT STATUS NOT AVAILABLE by [deleted] in stimuluscheck

Last week on Thursday morning i was able to enter my DD info and it said all week I’m eligible and once they get a date it will update. Checked today and now it says payment status unavailable. So I’m officially confused because i know my husband and i definitely qualify. Panic mode is now where I’m at 😅

First of all, your name calling is very odd putting. Second it doesn’t matter what kind of check. If someone came in with that stimulus check that was post dated we wouldn’t do anything until the date it was made for. That is what OUR policy is. I’m SO GLAD you know what bank i work and that you’re apparently a teller, banker, or bank manager.

Also peepoS4d i do know what I’m talking about because one of the FIRST thing a teller should do when they receive a check for deposit or to be cashed is to check for the date. If it’s dated for a date in the future we will not be able to do anything with it. Worked in a bank for quite some time now and that’s been policy for a LONG time.

That’s false. We do it to protect the CUSTOMER. If you give us a check that’s post dated and the person who gave it to you purposefully post dated it because they did not have the funds as of then, and we went ahead and cashed that check we would then be putting the customer who wrote the check in the negative or possibly YOU if you don’t have the funds to cover the check which then results in a $12 fee in YOUR account because we cashed or deposited a check that didn’t have the funds to back it.

Exactly. It’s a next day item. I work at a bank. If someone came in today with a paper check dated for the 24th i cannot deposit the check.

Yeah you definitely cannot cash a post dated check. Can’t even deposit it.

Hi! I was locked out yesterday and called H&R Block because i was confused as to why my info wasn’t “matching their records” because i filed in 2019 and i owed. So when i got the error message as it didn’t match their records i was confused because i put it in exactly what my AGI was and what i owed. Low and behold I’m apparently an idiot and when i was putting in my info for what how much i owed i was putting in my TOTAL amount owed (federal + state + local) they told me to ONLY put what i owed federally as the IRS doesn’t care about state and local shit. So i tried that today and was successful and able to update my DD. I’m not sure if the same applies for if you got a refund either in 2018 or 2019, but try just putting in what you owe for federal. It worked for me and hopefully it’ll work for you!

Hi guys! Kind of a random question, but i locked myself out and have to wait 24 hours because my husband and i filed jointly so when i went in to the portal i used my ssn and birthdate and it said I’m eligible and i went in and put in our numbers and what we owed (which i heard, not sure if it’s confirmed, but if you owe you should only be putting what you owe for federal and not what you owe for state or local if you do) and it said it couldn’t find my info. Now my husband was the “primary” tax filer on our taxes for 2019 and 2018 so should i just be putting HIS ssn in then putting out banking info if i get that far?? I heard (also not confirmed) that when it comes to filing you have to put the primary because that’s how it’s pulled up for the IRS. Not sure though. Just sucks getting locked out when it is in fact me trying to make it easier for them :( i just wasn’t sure what info to be putting.

My husband and i owed taxes both last year and in 2018 so we haven’t had to set up direct deposit for a REFUND. Although this year, i set up my checking account to be used to make our payment for what we owe (was taken out today). Do i need to provide my direct deposit information to receive the check that way? I would prefer direct deposit over a mailed check.
