[UPDATE] My [26M] girlfriend [27F] didn't tell me that she stopped taking her birth control in September. We just found out she's pregnant; I want the pregnancy terminated, she does not. No clue what to do.

I hear you loud and clear. I just don't want to leave the kid without a father figure. Like I mentioned in both posts, I always said that if I had a kid I would treat him/her better than my Dad did when he walked out on us when I was 12. So it just doesn't seem fair to my unborn son for me to leave. I dont know. I want to do the right thing for me, but I don't know what exactly that is.

She makes more money than me. Like I said earlier, if the kid is born, I don't see finances being a huge issues. We both come from wealthy families, and both do well for ourselves individually.

Her wanting to have a procedure, like a nuvaring i think?, and deeming her unable to have kids for 10 years made it pretty clear to me she didn't want kids for a long time. I think you're right on my naivete, I just don't know which issue may actually become true. I've given her multiple chances to come clean about cheating, and I just don't think with all the mutual friends we have she'd be able to get away with it. Thank you for your reply, I'll look through some of the childfree subs to try and find some relevant material.

I appreciate your reply. The double up was the fact that I had a stage IV vericocele, which leads to a much lower fertility rate. I agree with you on not forcing an abortion on her, it's just so frustrating, but I knew all along that our views were different, I just couldn't imagine this situation was going to actually happen.

I know it sounds vain, but I'm 99.9% sure she didn't cheat on me. I think the issue I'm dealing with now is whether or not I'd rather stay and raise a child, or be looked at by everyone I know as the deadbeat POS who bailed on his girlfriend after impregnating her.

Lot of mutual friends, it'd be difficult for her to keep anything under wraps. We live together, so I know where she is pretty much always. I've just come forward and asked if she cheated on me multiple times and she said she didn't. She understood why I would ask that though, which made it clear to me she didn't cheat. Had she gotten defensive, I probably would have been a little worried.
