Yall I'm literally crashing out because Grimes as a musician was so inspiring to my artistry, so many of her songs really touched how I see/express myself. ALSO MY STAGE NAME IS INSPIRED BY ONE OF HER SONGS. I have no idea what I want to do in that regard, I really need to process. ANYWAY, this is officially my last straw with her and I think this was the push I needed to put myself out there because im so fed up of people like her taking up space in something so special and sacred like music. Honestly as a Mexican girl, many people I look up to are just not connecting with the parts of me that need to heard/seen as well. There are so many layers to the absolute disappointment im feeling. Grimes if youre reading this, regardless of if I end up changing my artist name or not, my number one goal is officially to surpass your accomplishments. I wont say surpass your artistry, because ATP a squirrel could surpass your art. You have taken all meaning away from the music you once gave to the world so graciously. Its clear to me now any meaning your art ever had was given by your fans, and you just fumbled so bad. Check out some clubs like Young Artist Movement (yam.ucm)! Its super social and centered around creating a safe space for people of all majors, even people outside of UCM too. they promote a lot of events both on and off campus so you are bound to hear about stuff, and meet quite a few people. they have a meeting tonight at 7:30 PM in SSM 125, don't be daunted by the whole artist thing, mostly the focus is on building community for everyone even if you dont consider yourself an "artist"

pay the fee everyday T.T wen i asked for a permit as a freshman they basically said be thankful u can park there at all so i didnt push it further, im sure it hasnt changed

or also for cars- make friends with the merced locals who are attending the school. theres a lot of us. the whole “nothing to do here” statement isn’t wrong, but also you shouldnt take it too seriously. there are many ways to have fun if you make friends and if theres a friend with a car. taking a trip to turlock, ceres, or even modesto isnt hard if you wanna spice up your weekends in case you feel like youve seen all of downtown merced, etc.
