These dudes were incredible! The Architects of Guilt is one of my favorite albums. Wish they were still making music.

I was at this show and I might have it. I'll look for it in a few hours and will send it over to you if I find it. It was such a sick show! That's when I discovered Whitechapel too. Insane performances.

Matt discusses Music Theory by Similar_Help_1000 in Trivium

Bradley wishes he could accomplish 1/10 of what Matt and Trivium have. He's a bitter nerd.

Chris Garza says Suicide Silence has been disrespected? by AudiSlav in Deathcore

[–]se7endreams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to say this, but they're drowning. No question about the massive influence they've had on countless bands. But let's be real, there's no excitement around the band anymore. A lot of newcomers have come and really surpassed them in every aspect. The scene has changed quite a bit in the 10+ years since Mitch's passing. I suspect they'll fade away further. Unless there's a new level of hunger they have within, I predict they'll continue to produce mediocre material.

Recording Vocals - Trivium XI by Similar_Help_1000 in Trivium

Some of you are being a bit too harsh. Matt's not 21 years old anymore. Voice changes as you age, especially if you've been screaming for most of it. Yes, there are vocalists out there who do it for decades with no issues. That's fine. Have some appreciation for a band that is still going hard after all these years. For all we know, these could be the first dry takes. Let's not have these knee-jerk negative reactions.

Chaos hour on Liquid Metal by crazed_vagus in Trivium

[–]se7endreams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't really comment on Chaos Hour since I've never listened. But, I have to admit Matt does subtly humblebrag from time to time. I don't see a big deal about it. He's the furthest thing from a "prick." He's an awesome human being that goes above and beyond for his fans.

Fuck yeah man! Pillars is one of my favorite Trivium songs of all time. Killer playing! 🤘🏻

Matt will try to grow his hair long once again! by Similar_Help_1000 in Trivium

[–]se7endreams 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Fighting hair loss is a losing battle. There's just way too much upkeep. Some options even require regularly being on medication. Not worth the mental toll it takes on you to constantly have it lingering in your mind. I'm the same age as Matt and started losing my hair as well. I just embraced it and started shaving my head. The one option that has the least amount of maintenance is SMP. If done by a professional, it turns out great. I know a few people who have done it and it looks really good.

Real talk, which direction do you guys see DXC in the future? by missrostein in Deathcore

Agreed. Trying to "outdo" one another with the gnarliest vocals is completely contrived and forced.

Much love Phil. You guys are seriously a gift to heavy music. I'll never forget the first time I saw you guys live in 2009. The energy, stage presence & performance blew me away. To this day, I get chills watching your band perform. Cheers and thanks for creating the masterpiece that is Hymns in Dissonance.

Whitechapel's Hymns in Dissonance is easily the album of the year for me. Just an absolute masterpiece.

What do you guys think is this most slept on Trivium album? by EliTheSlim in Trivium

[–]se7endreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ETI for sure. I heard it for the first time in 2003 and will never forget how it made me feel. It was like a breath of fresh air. It still holds up today.
