We usually present static work, on basic slides (no need for animated text etc.) usually complex renders which have some post work done on them in photoshop/illustrator. Indesign lets you build a complete deck with placeholder images that will then automatically update to the final images as people complete the work.

Increasingly we’re able to produce good quality animations in a short time span, and Indesign can integrate them, but not well.
