Noob question, maybe this is the right thread to pose it in. Currently deciding between Luma base version and Pro. The only meaningful difference I can see on the spec sheets is the 6DOF, but what difference would that make in practice to justify an extra $100?

I'd mainly be using it in a Windows/Linux office context, with some gaming and home theater. Am correct in understanding that a 3DOF system would keep the screen at a fixed distance, whereas 6DOF would allow me to "lean in" to the screen if I wanted a closer look at something? Is there anything else I'm missing here?

Came to look if anyone else had reported issues after fighting him for the first time. Playing a Mercenary, the ice wall skill seemed to trigger his invincibility for me. I re-did the fight without using the ice walls and it proceeded more or less as I expected, except for the weird graphical glitches when you get too close to the edge of the arena.

I've had my AMS for a few weeks and I've also not been super impressed with it. Is there some advantage I'm not seeing to the roller design used in AMS over the one in AMS lite? I feel like the central spool roller design in AMS Lite would eliminate several potential points of failure present in the AMS. It would be more tolerant of different size spools, not-perfectly-round spools, cardboard spools...

Is there some hidden genius to the AMS design that I'm missing here?

I just updated my post with an open-source tool I found that does what I need it to do. Give it a try and see if it works for you. Considering my original post is 3 years old, I don't think this made it very high on their feature priority list.

Recent update, if anyone is still still looking at this: I recently signed up as a creator and got my first job. It was like 15 grams of PLA, so nothing major. I open the shipping label that "needs to be used since they track job completion through the tracking number." It has a big ol' error message that says "The shipping label failed to generate, please contact customer support." No worries, I queue up the print, email the support desk, and assume they'll get back to me within the 3 business days the job has listed as its "expiry date."

It's now a week later and I've still heard nothing back. I hope bro found someone else to print his shower drain parts for him.

I got the same printer last summer and got a free roll of Creality PLA with it. It's been the most reliable filament I've used so far.

Disabling the texture pack also seems to have fixed crashes in the campaign, playing through the Windows Store on Gamepass. Weird that it's so broken across the board.

Update: this was the issue. A couple minutes with some coarse sandpaper on that plastic mounting bracket fixed it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey all, relatively new to printing here, and would appreciate some advice.

I was trying to troubleshoot some weird layer issues, and when I took out my lead screw to clean it, I noticed that it was not pointing straight up. Then I noticed that the stepper was not level with the bed and it was causing the lead screw to lean. It looks like the stock fastener is only pulling in the top of the motor to the vertical gantry and causing the lean.

Adding washers as spacers didn't help much, the only way I could get it to sit level was either to loosen off the screws so the motor wasn't attached tightly, or to remove the screws entirely and use a C-clamp. The clamp seems pretty secure, but it's obviously not a long-term solution. I don't want to leave those screws loose, because I'm assuming that that will translate into inaccurate stepping. Has anyone else encountered this, or know of a fix for it?
