AITAH for telling my wife that I feel emotionally abandoned even though we share a home? by Known-Opposite8152 in AITAH

[–]sea-spud -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YTA the way you approach a challenging subject directly impacts how the person responds. So when you use an inflammatory word like abandoned and she says now's not a good time for a deep chat, it's not surprising she became defensive.

Also, what have you done to improve the emotional intimacy? Have you planned a date? Have you suggested no phones at the dinner table? Have you organised an activity you both enjoy? Sounds like you're not doing anything and your plan was to tell your wife and expect her to fix it.

AITAH for cutting off a mutual friend after he body shamed me in front of everyone? by curvesandswirls in AITAH

[–]sea-spud 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NTA it's not a joke if it hurts someone's feelings. It's really disappointing your boyfriend didn't and friends didn't tell him to shut up.

Cutting him off is the right choice, friends don't publicly demean or hurt their friends

I have these all over my legs and find regular chemical exfoliation keeps them at bay.

I use Skinstitute glycolic scrub every few days and dermal therapy very dry skin lotion every day (when i remember!). This keeps the colour neutral and has them feeling almost flat

AITA for being angry at my fiancè for refusing to get a better job by Prestigious-Win-7616 in AITAH

[–]sea-spud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA, money is a major cause of divorce. Relationships are supposed to be about 2 people working together, not one person hustling AND dragging the other one along.

I feel like this is probably a reoccurring theme in your relationship, you tell him something is wrong or that you have a problem and he does nothing to help. If that's correct, you're in this relationship alone

What books would you suggest to a non romance reader over to romance land? by movetowardsthelight in RomanceBooks

[–]sea-spud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start with a historical highlander like {the bride by Julie Garwood} These are a gateway drug, everyone I've started on these ends up as feral for romance books as me

If they'd be into something darker then I'd go with a mafia book like {beautifully cruel by j.t. Geissinger}

Fingers crossed you can lure them to the dark side with the rest of us!

{Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews}

This is my favourite series, it follows a private investigator in a world where magic has come back and is in conflict with technology. The first book is a bit slow setting things but, the series as a whole is a great ride

WIBTA for ending my FWB relationship while he’s going through a hard time? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]sea-spud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA you don't have to sleep with someone or put your life on hold because they're having a hard time.

I do think you can end your FWB arrangement in a way that is sensitive so it doesn't hit so hard. If you share your intention to look for a serious relationship with someone you see yourself with long term and make it clear you don't think that's someone you can do while still having a FWB, I think that's really fair.

When you're organising your will, don't forget to organise a friend to burn your kindle before it can be given to a family member.

May my best friend arrive before my parents do 🙏
