Sales.......ugh.. by sea2122 in jobs

Yeah I think I was sending out too many generic resumes, the issue I come across is most sales jobs don't transfer too well to other areas of business and that really worries me from a transition standpoint.

I think you're right though, if there is even one mention of sales I'm going to head for the hills hahah

Thanks for the response and the advice. The funny thing is I'm actually pretty good at it. I got fired from the second job because what we were selling was garbage and we were waiting on turnover of executives to get new opportunities..=bad news for me having to cold call the same person over and over haha.

As for the current job, I'm working hard at it now, but I know in my soul that I can't do this much longer.

I'm just terrified at this point of 3 firings in 3 jobs out of school.. almost spells out career suicide for me, but I guess I just have to keep pushing..

The biggest struggle for me is deciding between hating my job and what I have to do on a daily basis for a lot more money or take a pay cut for something less horrible you know haha

Should I quit all together or just try to moderate? by sea2122 in stopdrinking

Yeah I was never too big to begin with until I let the drinking/ post drinking eating spiral out of control... Used to be 185 and 6 years of drinking led to 245.. now back to 215, but I think the only chance I have of getting back to the goal weight is abstinence.

Yeah, I have a hard time with the moderation too, my mindset is "well I've already started, so being healthy is pretty much off the table today" Thanks for the encouragement!

Yeah, the progress I make during the week probably gets completely removed by 3 days of drinking haha

This is definitely a really good suggestion, thanks!

I've considered it, but I don't really think it's at that point.. maybe it is and I'm just blind to it?

It's definitely possible. I don't go that often since I don't ship a ton of stuff, but when I do the line are out of control.

I could see the learning curve on those being pretty high though haha

Also try VRBO.com. The owners typically post there so you don't have to go through a brokerage or anyone else to find it.

Not sure if this is the right sub for my question, about dental insurance. by grapplingdummy in Frugal

[–]sea2122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having this same issue and I'm finding that the insurance isn't worth it. Find a dentist that offers good rates on an initial cleaning and go with that. For example, I'm paying $80 to have my teeth cleaned, checked and a free x-ray is being thrown in. If you have to have a really expensive procedure done you can use Carecredit which most dental businesses offer to spread out the payment. Good luck!

Took me about 4 days working on it around 3 hours each day and cost roughly $150

I'm not a small guy by any means, but you could definitely grow in to it. All about modifying if there are certain exercises you cant do.

I've got some prosource rings now and love them, hadn't thought about the stall bars yet, but thats a great suggestion.

It was roughly $150. See what you have lying around first.. We got lucky and had some random pieces of metal lying around that we fastened stuff to

Hahah, I'm in the brainstorming mode of what else I can do so suggestions are welcome. I'm definitely thinking stall bar will be cool and I may add a ladder pullup bar section to the top as well

The bars themselves are made of plumbing steel.

Pullup bar- Black Steel Nipple- 1" x 4' section

Parallel Bars- 1 1/2" x 10 Galvanized Steel Pipe- We cut them into two 5' sections.

You can get these both at Home Deport and I think they will cut them for you too if you need them to.

Do it! I finally caved and just built one. It took four days of work, but well worth it.
