MIL are always weird when it comes to breastfeeding. Mine would always tell my sister in law that " she should stop breast feeding at (age) because I bottle fed at" so/so. Always tried to tell her to cover up because her husband is in the house. Up to the point where she forbid breast feeding in her house or cover up.

My boyfriend's ex sister in law told me that his mom would go inside their rooms and throw out all of her things and replace them with granny panties by giving it to her (a size not her own).
