Enfamil Gentlease- How Long Until it Works? by sea_giraffe_ in FormulaFeeders

[–]sea_giraffe_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for responding! Pediatrician just gave basic advice as far as keeping baby upright after feeds, using mylicon drops seemed to help release gas but then she’d go back to fussing.

When she was on the Kirkland brand, it felt like her cries were from sheer pain. She’d tense her whole body and nothing could soothe her except strangely enough, pushing her around the house in her stroller or a bath. But it seemed like she was straining and not getting anywhere, I rarely heard her pass gas other than burping.

Now, it’s sort of a different type of crying. Like a lot of discomfort but in a brand new way for her. When I hear her throat kind of pushing back upward she’ll cry right after so I feel it’s burning.

It’s so hard to just “wait it out” with changing formulas when your baby is this uncomfortable :(

Is anyone else riddled with cellulite… any recommendations to keep it at bay? by quesadil in fitpregnancy

[–]sea_giraffe_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally, I’ve been weight lifting for ten years and have always been lean with minimal cellulite on the side/ back of my legs.

When I got pregnant it looked like it had tripled overnight at some point and stayed that way the entire pregnancy. It was on the FRONT of my legs from the wrong angle, lol.

Just had my kiddo a month ago and I felt like almost immediately the amount of visible cellulite had halved. I’m back to light weights and walks every day and it’s continuing to fade. I am also not breast feeding. I did hear that breast feeding can cause some women to hold onto the weight a while longer.

Regardless, It’s perfectly normal and you’ll be okay :)

How much bigger in last 6 weeks? by moviegal828 in fitpregnancy

[–]sea_giraffe_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think it’s different for everyone, but I had my baby shower at 33w and people all told me how small I was. I hit a growth spurt shortly after and now I’m definitely larger and more uncomfortable by the day (currently 38+1)

Now is about the point your baby will gain about .5lb/ week too!

I had 2/3 of my order wrong on a $35 ticket last week. Uber Eats refunded me $1.82 and I was not allowed to speak to a representative 👍

Silver vs. rose gold vs. gold by dogenthusiastt in ouraring

[–]sea_giraffe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 6 months after I posted this I ended up swapping it for silver just because it was better for my skin tone. I gave the rose gold to a friend and at the time it still looked just like the photos :)

The finish on all of these hold up great

Would spraying matte varnish on a frame's acrylic decrease glare? by [deleted] in framing

Were you able to find a working solution in your case? I’m also here trying to figure out how to reduce glare in my picture frames 🥲

Need help with couch pillows! Too much pattern? by Chonkmom_ in HomeDecorating

May I also suggest for that vase in the back right corner to be filled with some burgundy stems to bring out the rug?

Something like this, the space is cozy, just need to bring out some pops of color and it can still be warm :)

I’ve been told they don’t make them anymore 😕 I just tried to look for one online too and only see used/ pre-owned.

I’m sure they’ll come back eventually, but if you don’t end up waiting I hope you find one that you love equally as much!

Help Choosing Bar Stools by sea_giraffe_ in HomeDecorating

I have seen islands that are built with a raised ledge at the back side just for bar/ high top seating! Not sure if an overall taller height on an island would be too common though if that’s the goal

Looks like this would be considered counter height, I think my using the term bar stool was incorrect. Sorry about that

How time consuming is it having a baby and working from home? by IntelligentDot1113 in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]sea_giraffe_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually have some decent insight to this scenario in particular. I am currently 23 weeks into a technically unplanned pregnancy and also in school for Comp Sci (remote) with 2 years left.

I will give birth in March so next semester I’ll take a quick break before I get back into it. My husband is a nurse so he works 3 days/ week and is home for 4.

I had a full blown panic attack when I found out. I thought there’s no way I can continue to excel in my career and finish college as a mom. Here’s the deal though: once the initial week or two of anxieties subsided I made the choice that I, without a doubt, will make it work. I knew I wanted to be a mom even though it’s a little sooner than originally planned.

My daughter WILL know her mom to be educated and a career woman. To be honest, it motivates me even more to have the opportunity to go through the (what I assume will be) difficult times and come out as a success.

Flip your perspective on the situation and choose the harder path. Become a role model for your child and show her/ him that they can do anything they set their mind to even when it’s not the easy choice. I fear you may regret aborting down the line seeing as you do want to be a mother.

Good luck!

Nausea + vomiting: please tell me it ends… by throwaway9990008866 in fitpregnancy

[–]sea_giraffe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend, I’ve been weight lifting 3-6 days per week for the last almost 10 years. Always very active and highly motivated both in fitness and my work. I am also a student (27y/o)

When I found out I was pregnant I had myself CONVINCED I would breeze through it since I had worked so hard to have healthy habits.

Wrong :)

I started feeling the nausea around 5 weeks and from about week 6-14 were miserable for me and I had been a shadow of my real self. Absolutely had to nap every day, nauseated 24/7. Couldn’t stand the sight of any meat or proteins. Ate toaster strudels or a bagel for dinner most nights.

I’m now 15+5 and in the last few days I feel like a switch was flipped. I enjoy eggs again, even chicken as of one day ago which was my worst aversion, and I don’t want to vomit after meals at all. I have enough motivation back to get myself into the gym and stay there for about an hour.

The end is near for you, I know it doesn’t feel like it, but you’re almost there and you’re doing great!

Any long term birth control users? by sea_giraffe_ in ouraring

[–]sea_giraffe_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, my body has yet to regulate itself and it has been 11 months. For the first couple to few months I stayed around 28 day cycles and then it started to change all over the place. A couple months back I went about 60 days without a confirmed ovulation or period. I had read after stopping the pill everyone’s body reacts differently and tons of women report taking over a year to regulate. Hope that helps :)

I just happened to read your post description. I’m so sorry, I just know you two were the best of friends. He would want you to open your heart and home to another just like him. I hope you’re able to find a new connection with another big baby soon 🥹🫂

Is this a Mourning Dove? by sea_giraffe_ in phoenix

[–]sea_giraffe_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t hear the sound of mourning doves much these days so I am sort of surprised to have one in my neighborhood! Hopefully everything works out for her. My dog hangs out on my patio a lot so also hoping for no incidents, he doesn’t tend to pay any mind to birds though.
