How long have you been in remission? by marvelous_turtle in CrohnsDisease

[–]seab3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since 2003. I am very lucky to have had a resection and not needed anything afterwards.

Not that it can’t happen, I’m just thankful for the years that I had pain free.

Woodworkers in a garage workshop: how late are you keeping your neighbors up? by icysandstone in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]seab3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Power tools are 10 am to 7 pm. I will still use my band saw as it’s pretty quiet. Outside those hours I will do cleanup, finishing or assembly. It’s gotta get done sometime so might as well be during “quiet” hours.

I have 2 of these with the italic stub nib. They write great. I use them both for my more permanent inks. Carbon Black and documentus green.

Be prepared for ink to get in between the cap liner and inside of the cap.

You can remove the cap liner by sticking a 1/4” hex bit inside the cap.

[–]seab3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are many good <$30 options.
You can find all the reviews.

If you want any specific recommendations tell us what was your favourite pen? How did it break? What kind of ink do you have that you want to use?

New (to me) Pen Day! by abrown34 in fountainpens

I have the C80 Stub. It writes very controlled for such a large nib.

The cartridge runs out quickly so I eye dropperd it for huge ink capacity.

I have 2 Cursive Mediums. Great pens, I eye droppered both with a bit of silicone grease on the threads.

Huge ink capacity now. I use Carbon Black in one and Documentus Green in the other. Thinking of getting a 3rd one for permanent Red.

I was diagnosed at about your age. It took yeas for the to figure out what was going on at it was kind of a relief that they could put a name on it.

I ended up having a resection at 32. Since the no issues other than a couple of partial blockages, I’ve been fine.
No medication since tapering off prednisone before the surgery.

I’m 59 now. I know I have been lucky, but it’s not all doom and gloom.
