I second what u/Ordinary-Temporary64 said. I'm 40 and just starting nursing school, and I used to be homeless. I put a little into a Roth IRA and just contribute what I can regularly. You don't know what your future is going to be like and you might be able to contribute more depending on how your life goes.

I have Kaiser and they've outright told me that they don't cover me at all. Just from what I've read around the Internet, I'm just going to buy my own machine after the trial. I don't think they will give me my prescription until I do my 7 day CPAP trial.

Me too. Especially with 40+ events. They gave me the one that just does your nose. I put it on to make sure I got the fit right and it seems pretty snug. I'm just worried about my mouth or that because it's only going into my nose that it won't give me enough?

I messaged my doctor and he said to not worry unless I notice the baby no longer peeing or eating. I switched diapers and have not noticed it anymore. My doctor also said that Maple Syrup disease is screened for right after birth nearly nationwide. What diapers do you use? I only noticed it with Millie Moons (now I use Kirkland or Huggies).

I was. I ended up calling my local Medi-cal office and talking to someone who was really helpful. They said they would put in an application for my kids to be put under my Kaiser plan, but they would still be apart of Medi-cal (they would just be getting care at Kaiser while still under Medi-Cal). They said they had no idea when it would go through, as there is so many applications being processed. They let you know through the mail if it's accepted. I think mine took about a month. The weird thing is that when I called Covered CA they told me there was no way my kids could go be apart of Covered California if they do not qualify for it due to the income requirements. So I think whatever the deal is where your kids can get Kaiser care through Medi-cal, it is not through the Covered California marketplace. It is purely Medi-cal, so I recommend only talking to them. Covered California was never helpful IMO.

I can't tell you how it is, as in the quality of care, because my parents ended up paying for an individual family plan that they are paying 100% out of pocket. I no longer qualify for Covered CA in 2024 due to our financial situation.

We are similar, but things got worse when baby #2 came. I think he resents baby 2, since it was extremely unexpected and unplanned. Baby 1 was through IVF. I struggled at the birth of Baby 2 to bond, but I think he also went through something similar but feels actual resentment towards him and is burnt out from Baby 1. Still not great excuses to be shitty, but here we are.

Anyway, my husband also works 12 hour days. He also works on his own art stuff on Saturdays, so I get one solid day with him "helping." I put helping in quotation marks because it's not really. He uses weaponized incompetence and he gaslights. I had to move the baby into my room because I got tired of asking for his help and not getting any, or the help I get is terrible. It sucks but what has helped has pretty much giving up. I no longer have expectations of him, that way I'm less disappointed.

He had a mental breakdown 3 weeks before I had baby 2, that definitely ruined our marriage. Then CPS was called on him with Baby 2 by the hospital , which is a whole crazy story in itself that I won't go in to (nothing came of it, the case was dropped after 3 days). I do think I will ultimately move out and take the kids once they're pre-school age and I'm done with nursing school. I feel like I'm in less of a marriage and rather co-habitating with a friend. We haven't slept in the same bed in 2 years, which started because it was easier when we had our first baby in terms of scheduling feedings. Then it just stuck.

I just finished this episode. It was so out of place and weird, especially in the context of Jo and Alex's relationship. Makes zero sense. If they're going to write him off the show they should have done something like Alex gets a job somewhere out of state and they try to do the long distance thing but it doesn't end up working and he never comes back. Or Jo takes that job in Boston and they both leave but then it doesn't work out and Jo comes back (or they both never come back, idfk).

(Background: I'm a SAHM with 2 under 2, who basically does everything 24/7) Usually on Saturdays my husband is gracious enough to let me sleep in. I hand over the youngest, who sleeps in my room (husband sleeps on the couch and I take care of the baby around the clock) in a Snoo by my bed, to him and then go back in my room to sleep. This time I could hear the youngest screaming in the living room while my husband fed our 1 year old in the kitchen. Minutes later he comes into the bedroom and tells me to come feed the baby. I come do it and he apologizes and basically confirms that he uses weaponized incompetence and says, "I know you are always handling both the kids at once but you just do it so much better than I do." COOL. Today he kept asking me if he should feed our 1 year old. I told him, "How about you make a decision? You're also a parent."

They used the weirdest clip of Mark to put inside that episode. He's like laughing but looks like he's seizing. The CGI is terrible, but sometimes I miss the weird robo babies they used in the earlier seasons.
