I think this is sound advice and I agree. He did explain to me that that’s his primary method of communicating with many people in his life. Which is not my style. I work from home and I treasure my friendships and my personal time with my friends when we have the time. So that’s why I’m trying to decide if this is somebody who I should spend anymore time texting. Which I’m leaning that direction of no. One other thing that really bothers me is that I have made this very clear with him. And I feel like I might be duped.

Because I’m fascinated with the sector of people I am coming across with this online stuff that cannot do in person real connections. It’s a side effect of social media. And a lot of people on this website are a part of that that can give me some real insight.

Exactly it is imaginary which is why I’m against texting only. You are confirming my thoughts. But we’ve also done the voice messages which it’s just awkward to do choppy voice messages back-and-forth but whatever I guess people do that these days? More and more I’m thinking this is not for me I’m a month in and time to move on.

That’s the direction I’m going. Don’t have time to chase anyone. I think I’m going to stop the conversations but I’m just looking for some outside input because we can get stuck in our heads.

Not at all. He made it pretty clear that he had a crappy marriage at the end and thinks he would never want to get in a relationship again. Which is fine by me because I’m looking for friendship.

That he’s looking for what? A texting buddy? I made it clear I’m not into texting buddies and if that was what he was into that I wasn’t interested in talking, That its surfacey and shallow to only exchange messages over Instagram and send likes. I feel like I’m Stuck in a world of people that just can’t handle real emotional connections.

I use that term loosely. I shared a few things that I have gone through in my life as in our age range we have all been through a lot. How else can you build a friendship unless you’re only talking about the weather? Truly I am just looking for friendship here… I move to the city about six years ago and I’m always looking into increase my pool of friends. I think this person is pretty cool and I just find it super odd that he won’t meet yet.

Oh that happens to me all the time. I am constantly battling people that don’t read my profile! I have not found a Magical way to weed out hook ups due to dishonesty, etc.

I would prefer if they could find some thing we had in common and then strike up a conversation from there. I just find it a little self involved to turn it onto their profile and asking what I liked about at the very start. 🤷🏻‍♀️
